Great sound, needs something from you though.

I'm an aspiring voiceover artist, and after a few false starts and trying to "cheap out" using Blue Snowballs or Neewar condensers, I decided to take the step up in audio quality. After reading around online I settled on the AKG p120 as it seemed like good value for money from a reputable brand.

Now, the sound quality is phenomenal when used in conjunction with a behringer mixer and soundcard interface, but you really have to work for it.

Anyone that knows what they're doing with regards to sound recording will know how to utilise a condenser mic correctly, but they'd probably be using higher spec and higher priced kit.

For those uninitiated, be prepared to put some work in to get clean recordings, things like familiarising yourself with your interface and software are essential, you need to understand that condensors are very sensitive and need you approach them with a great deal of care and attention. That said, I'm astounded with the level of sound I've been able to get out of this mic, I intend to give voiceover a good old colleague try and I think this can really help me get my start.

I've had to adjust my set up to eliminate other sounds from the room in which I record but have been able to capture the nuance of my voice and a little guitar to astounding detail.

In short, if you're very adept at recording with condenser mics. I think this will suit you well, the clarity is brilliant. However if this is your first step into the realm of capturing sound, prepare to put the work in (by watching YouTube channels such as Booth Junkie or Podcastage) and you will be deftly rewarded.

If, indeed you just want a clean recording for youtube voiceover or streaming. This is way overkill.

I just received the package today (7 Sep. 2020) and tested the product immediately. The microphone sounds crispy and warm. It sounds very natural to the ears. It is well built and the product is really sturdy - not made of cheap plastic. However, keep in mind that it is quite heavy (keep this in mind if you are using a cheap boom mic stand).
Now coming to the package i was so shocked and disappointed to find out that such an expensive item came without any proper protective coating. It was just packed with a think layer of its own cover and amazon sticker on it. And to my bigger dismay, I found out the package was already opened - meaning not a sealed pack.
I was immediately skeptical about it and checked it immediately. But it seems to be working perfectly which is why I decided to keep it and not returned.
It is my humble request to sellers: please pack any expensive and delicate items at least with some sort of foam or hard coating so that it's not damaged while it's being shipped. Because if the product gets damaged or scratched (which is no fault of the customer) we the innocent customers have to go through a hell hassle to request for a return or replacement or whatever.

Pros: 1.Onboard switch option for a bass roll-off switch and 20dB pad add to this mic's versatility
2. Good for both vocal and instruments.

Conclusion: This is a really good mic for those who are just starting out and also for those who are mid-range voice-over artists or singers. Voice sounds very natural and crispy.

For the price i dont really think you can get better I compared this to my rode nt2a and there are only minor differences... if youre going after a cheap affordable microphone just to do the job go for this you cant really go wrong. an advantage you get with this AKG is that you can roll off low end.

... es rauscht halt doch a weng mehr als andere in diesem Preissegment. Bei voice over fällt das auf. Self Noise (SN) liegt bei 19 dbA. Meister der Stille ist hier das Rode NT1, wobei letzteres mit meiner Stimme nicht so gut umgehen kann. Meine Stimme wird vom P120 akzeptabel wiedergegeben und hört sich subjektiv auch sehr gut für mich an im Vergleich zu anderen Mikes unter 100,- EUR. In post kriegt man das Rauschen mit ein paar Klicks problemlos weg und kommt mit wenig post Aufwand zu einer voice over Aufnahme von guter Qualität. Wer ein solide verarbeitetes preisgünstiges Mike mit hohem Schalldruck (-20db) switch) und low cut filter sucht, sollte sich das hier mal anschauen. Anstelle einer eierlegenden Wollmilchsau hätte AKG lieber die 2 switches weglassen und stattdessen eine ! Zoll Membran einbauen sollen. Ich kenn nichts dazu sagen, wie sich das P120 bei der Abnahme von Musik verhält. Aber hey, vielleicht ist es eher dafür gedacht, als für Stimmaufnahmen. Bei voice over muss man sich auf ein wenig post Aufwand vorbereiten. Alles in allem aber ein sehr robustes Mike. Wer mehr will soltte sich das AT2035 (SN 12dbA) oder NT1 A (SN 5dbA) anschauen. Die beiden größeren Brüder des P120, gehören mit 16dbA SN (P220) und 15dbA SN (P420) auch nicht zu den leisesten Vertretern ihrer Gattung.

Per gli home studio, streamer, cantanti o chiunque è stupendo, rende da 10 la voce, chiara e cristallina, frequenze alte presenti il giusto e non taglienti.
Per il costo che ha è un microfono che non si può non avere. Meno di 100€ e si ha un prodotto tutto in acciaio e solido come un mattone, è una volta acceso ha pure un suo carattere nel rec. Assolutamente convinto sia un microfono da avere sempre.

Secondo me un ottimo prodotto che va benissimo per registrare in casa (cantanti dilettanti), ma si presta molto per il parlato ad esempio una web radio e applicazioni similari; il timbro della voce rimane abbastanza naturale a parte una leggera accentuazione dei toni alti. comunque rimane un bel microfono che per il suo prezzo e volendo anche considerare il brand ha un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Gudd with upper end and also good with bass and mid but it have some noise which is little irritating when you start to post proc

Good for vocals and guitar as written in description .really solid built .good for starters
