I bought this thinking it would be an upgrade to my 2.0 speakers. Tested them with a few songs and was startled at how tinny the satellites were and how one dimensional the subwoofer was. No mid-range to speak of. I was really disappointed and will look for a better 2.1 system.
Midrange is lacking. Bass sounded ok. There was an annoying static/hissing sound I could hear at all volume levels. Only used the analog 3.5 mm connection and didn’t even want to try the Bluetooth. Had to return it. Spend more on something else.
I really like these speakers when they are working. However, sometimes they connect and work correctly, other times they do not. They will say they are connected; however, no sound will come out from the computer.
If you wanted a Logitech you should've bought one. These are ok. I have a logitech z5500 and X-530. far from the sound quality of either but cool thing i liked about these is that it was bluetooth. I had no expectation that these would be great. it was either these or a crappy sound bar without a sub that only had maybe 20-30 watts. I went with these. One of the reviewers had mentioned the bass knob on the back is either no bass or all bass. lol i thought he was bs-ing, nope. But i'm fine with it. It's hooked up to a cheap mini projector in the backyard. haven't got it to work via bluetooth with the projector (it paired but no sound) but works good with my phone, with the aux line into the projector, it worked ok. I'm content with these for now.
I have read reviews about tinny sounds. There is so many settings in windows you may need to adjust yours. I use winamp and these sound way better than my expensive Logitech that I spilled coke on. All I can think of is your settings in your computer are set wrong. I can't say enough of these kick-ass speakers!
Very impressed with these speakers - loud as you want and very clear, unmuddied sound. Subwoofer delivers booming low notes and main speakers do a great job with the midtones and highs. Subwoofer just fits under my desk and main speakers are small enough to disappear just behind the monitor..
My only real complaint is the little input/volume/bluetooth control puck. It connects to the subwoofer with a fixed cord, somewhat limiting the placement. Putting the subwoofer under my desk gave me just enough length to reach the desktop. I would have preferred another couple of feet on it. The cable going from the subwoofer to the main speakers is similarly short, but you can put an extender cable on it. Minor quibbles for my installation, YMMV.
I bought these for my son to use in his room. I set them up and tested them with spotify from my phone first. I was blown away by the sound levels available and the clarity and completeness of range. No joke - its amazon basics. My expectations *were not high*. But I was pretty shocked at how good bass response was from not a very large sub box, and moreover the sound quality from the desktop towers really put a smile on my face. These have bluetooth and 1/8th inch headphone jack connections and come with all the cables you need. These aren't dorm room blasters, no, but I'd put these up against any of my old Logitech Z series systems any day. Let's see if they hold up to teenager use.
So the speakers sound fine, when both of them deign to work. Within about an hour or getting the speakers set up I noticed that my sound quality went to hell. Ran a few audio tests, nothing comes out of the right speaker, the left speaker plays sound for both. Decided to test it with multiple devices, and the issue persisted. Went through the RMA process to get a replacement pair of speakers. Got them set up and within an hour, the same problem occurred. This is not a problem with my computer as the issue persists when connected via blutooth to my phone. Odd that two pairs would have the exact same issue, so it must be a design flaw.
Decent set of bookshelf speakers. I'm using them for a budget home theater setup with a projector. They're attractive and low profile. Couple of improvement areas I've encountered. The bass control knob goes from off to a mid level of bass, there's no gradual increase. The bookshelf speakers have uncovered and vulnerable cones, so be sure to put them somewhere safe. The construction is noticeably flimsy to boot. The Bluetooth function works and is easy to connect. Bluetooth and volume are located on a corded dongle with a decent amount of wire.
All in all not a bad budget speaker set, but I'd choose some logitech speakers next time.
I just had these speakers delivered today and I am very impressed with them. I bought them to listen to Pandora radio when I am sitting reading in my living room. They have a great full sound and an adjustable bass switch on the back of the woofer. Also the pod feature is great to adjust the volume. I would recommend these to anyone!!!!!! Easy to pair with my LG phone!!!!!
