Bought this to replace the lame microphone on the webcam. It's very compact and VERY light. The desk stand is a little flimsy, but you may well be using a proper boom stand, which it will fit with no problem. For the price paid there are 0 complaints with sound quality - check YouTube reviews for a better idea of this. Unidirectional, so will reduce unwanted noise.
There may be better mics, but you'll have to spend at least twice as much as this for the privilege. For most people in need of a decent mic for online chat, steaming, or gaming, this will do the job very well.
Recently upgraded from a gaming headset, to a desk mic and headphone combo, this mic is great, couple it with a pop filter (and maybe a bigger stand/arm) and it'd be hard to tell it apart from more expensive mics. Very happy
Got this mic to use on Zoom meetings as my mic on my computer stopped working. Ran a test recording and it very clearly picked up a local radio station... I tried turning the volume down in my system settings which reduced the volume of the radio station but also reduced the volume on my voice, so not ideal... after some Googling, it seems it could be a problem with a crappy cable, so I'll get another USB 2.0 to test it out. Otherwise will be returning!
Son is really pleased with this. He has replaced his gaming headset with a good set of headphones and this mic. It is fairly large in size but just sits to the side of his monitor. He says that according to friends listeninging online it is much better sound quality than his previous headset mic. It also works from a decent distance.
This works perfectly well. Some microphones are better than others, but unless you're using them simultaneously you won't hear the difference in quality. As long as there is no hiss, it'll be passable for majority of things. Very good value for money.
Of course, it depends what you're used to. If your experience has been truly shoddy last, last gen mics then this will seem fine.
However, if you already have a decent headset with a standard mic you'll more than likely be disappointed. The quality left a lot to be desired in my opinion but for the money (and your previous experience/expectation) I'm sure it'll do for meetings etc.
