I bought these for a beginner home studio. I've mostly been using headphones but wanted some cheap monitors. The sound was okay but after only a week, and with very careful usage, they refused to switch back on.
These aren't really studio monitors, but are great for other purposes. The overall sound is surprisingly good and fairly balanced for what they are, and they do get adequately loud for "monitoring" yourself. The input options are great. I have electronic drums (stereo) plus keyboard (stereo) and ipad guitar amp-sim output (mono, mic input) all mixing in quite well. Had this hooked up to iPod over the Christmas holidays and when replaced with a Teac 2.1 system from a friend I really noticed the change in sound (for the worse). Other less critical listeners in the household also commented how much better the Behringers were. Great value for giving decent amplification and flexible inputs with a relatively balanced and loud output.
I bought these in April and had no problem with them, they sounded good when listening to music, and also for music production when songwriting.
Sadly, 4/5 months later, it sounds like the mids have blown, as they have become distorted and very loud on low levels and the audio range has died a death, everything sounds mono. I've tried them on my laptop and 3 other devices with the same problem, even changed my laptop's sound card as I thought that was the problem first of all.
Not sure whether to buy another set or look for an alternative brand.
Giving 3 stars because I had no issues with them before they became defective.
I have a few items from Berhinger and I find them very satisfactory, these speakers I can not say are true monitor speakers, I have a pair of real monitor speakers and there is a big difference. But I purchased these knowing that they were going to be used as computer speakers, which is a big step up from the normal sound system with computers, they do a very good job, plenty of volume and controls to make them sound as you want them.
Great quality! I can only thing of Pro's to this as it is clearly a great price and amazing speakers. The only con i could possibly think of is that they are slightly bulky, however I personally love the look as fits in with my set up!
Very good monitor speakers and sound really good. The only down side is the bass which can be a bit wooly when pushed to the max. I have these connected to my pc as this is where most of my music is stored.
