We’ve had nothing but trouble since purchasing this product. When it actually works, it works well, but when there’s something wrong it’s almost impossible to fix because customer service is so awful. You will wait for almost an hour to talk to someone and they will fix it if you pay a fee to ship it to them. They’ll send it back and another issue will arise. Save your money and time and find a better product.

After 7 months the device does not turn on. I have to pay for all the repair shipment. Because it is an heavy device, shipment costs 50% of the total cost. This is ridiculous. The device was Always handled with care. Will not recommend this product.

I bought this receiver to replace a 20 year old Sony. Three days after delivery, the jury is still out. It arrived without a full owners manual, just a quick start guide.
I expected to be impressed by Denon's advancements in sound technology, so I ran the setup (including the Audyssey setup) and just let Denon do its thing,.
When setup was complete, I was presented with a group of canned tone settings, none of which sounded any better than a cheap blue tooth speaker that had been placed in the culvert under my driveway.
My next order of business was to disable all of the crapware and gimmicks, and see if I could find an equalizer and manual tone settings buried somewhere in Denon's maze of useless options. I found the full owner's manual on line, and there are manual EQ and tone settings, but they are not easy to access. It's almost like accessing them is the last thing Denon wants you to do. The full owner's manual is 231 pages!

Is it possible to get quality sound out of this reveiver? The kind of rich, full sound that fills the living room? The clear, crisp sound of a pick hitting each string? Possibly! After screwing with the settings for half the day yesterday, I was able to achieve the above mentioned sound quality. It wasn't easy, but it is possible. Half a day spent disabling their crapware and gimmicks, and then trying to figure out how to adjust the equalizer, bass and treble! No, the equalizer is not user friendly. Of course nothing can be as simple as a knob on the front of the receiver, or a tone button on the remote to access these settings. Nope. Denon has really outdone themselves on this puppy! Be prepared for some mind boggling stupidity if you want to achieve decent sound quality with this receiver; "You can't do this if that is enabled" and "you can't do that if this is enabled" and "you cant access the EQ in this mode, or that mode." And, all of this was just to set up Music Mode! Now I have to do it all over again for each of the other three modes!
If the audio quality changes from one movie to the next, as it usually does, changing the tone and sound quality settings on the fly is probably not going to be an option. The movie would be over before I ever got the audio settings dialed in.

As I mentioned, the jury is still out, but there is a strong chance that this receiver will end up being returned. On the other hand, the satisfaction to be gained by placing it on the driveway and running over it with my truck will have to be considered as well!
I guess the next power outage will determine its fate.

I hate to give a bad review to a component that does what it's supposed to do (process audio and video) very well, and due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to things like bluetooth set up - but considering the woeful absence of instructions for people like me, I can't give this unit a thumbs up.
Basic set up of speakers and calibration was easy although I didn't like the pedestrian quality of the menu graphics. They look dated and cheap - like an 80's video game. Compared to the Onkyo this replaced, the selection of audio presets was extremely limited - but the sound quality was very good. The video processing also did it's job. So, as an AV switcher, it's perfectly competent.
But the adverts for this unit has a long list of bells and whistles that looked appealing - like streaming satellite radio and voice command with my Alexa unit. I was under the (mistaken) impression that my SiriusXM account & other streaming channels would be installed in the unit, as they are in my car's audio system and available in a drop down, log in menu - as would pairing with the Alexa. But apparently, all the Denon is set up to do is interface with an external device, like a phone or tablet and operate those apps remotely. Not what I expected.
But the bigger issue is that the instruction "pamphlet" that comes with the unit is worthless and the on-line version isn't much better. I spent two days on web searches and YouTube trying to fill in the huge gaps in the unit's instructions, and I still have no idea how any of it works. Same with Alexa.
Also - and this isn't limited to Denon - the bold touting of "Dolby Atmos" sounded like a cool option. I thought it was a preset that enhanced all audio into 3D for the ears - the same way a 4K TV upreses HD video. But Atmos has to be encoded in source material to experience it, and, like 4K, good luck finding it. Chalk this up to buyer ignorance? Sure - but once again, nothing in the adverts or instructions explaining any of it. Bottom line: everything I thought this unit lists as a 'feature' is actually just a list of what it's capable of handling from outside sources. Which would have been acceptable had the instructions walked me through it.
A couple of other nits to pick: the unit's remote code isn't in DirecTV's pairing list - which means two remotes. Spent hours trying to figure out a workaround, but that was a dead end as well. Switching between sources would sometimes hit a dead spot that required toggling back and forth to get the source to "wake up." The more I used the unit, the less it happened - but it didn't fill me with confidence.
I really wanted to like this thing. It got good reviews & I was looking forward to improvements over my dead Onkyo, but I'm sending it back. Life's too short to waste on a trial and error learning curve. I'm sure folks with a much deeper understanding of wi-fi, bluetooth, apps and menu navigation of them all will roll their eyes at my cluelessness and chide me for not doing more comprehensive research before I bought it. Fair enough. I might not be any happier with the unit I just bought to replace this, but Denon needs to do a much better job walking people through the weeds who aren't tech savvy. This was an exercise in frustration - which knocks three stars off of a five star component.

3.0 de 5 estrellas Does not match well with my other components

I purchased this to be the "brains and controller" for the following equipment: 2019 Sony Bravia 60" TV, Sony Ultra Blue Ray player, Directv 4KUHD Server and Client, a Shield streaming device, and Plex Movie Server. The AV receiver has ample inputs to handle all of these devices, but simply does not match that well with the video output of the TV. I am about four months into trying to set up all the components to function up to my expectations and have spent hours and hours trying to configure and fine tune all the components so that my entertainment center performs and its peak potential for all components. It will function with all devices in a satisfactory manner; however, I have not been able to use all devices at their peak performance capabilities. I even employed a video/IT tech to assist me in fine tuning the installation. The results are a completely functional, but less than "peak performing" for one or more of the components. The difficulties began when I noticed 4K UHD picture that was definitely less than crisp and "washed out" when played from the Shield through the AV receiver, but crystal clear when played with a direct HDMI input through the TV. No matter how I tuned the picture and sound and video when played through the receiver, I could not duplicate the quality when played through the TV HDMI input. I even tried the "pass through" function on the Denon with even worse results and a host of other issues that arose. When I checked the other APPS played from the TV vs. played through the Receiver, I noticed the same disparity in video quality. Since there are only 2 60 FPS UHD HDMI inputs on the TV, one of which is the ARC input, I am left with having to use the input with the ARC for the AV receiver to have HDMI control capabilities; thus leaving only one 60FPS HDMI inputs available on the TV. The greatest variety of signal input in my system comes from the streaming and PLEX server on the Shield, so I used the remaining 60FPS input to serve the output from the Shield - and it all works with true and excellent 4K Ultra HD movies from the Plex Server. Directv is running through the Denon enhanced 4K input with excellent results. Both the Blue Ray player and the Directv server function well in that manner, however the UHD Blue Ray plays only at the HD capability. Both the Denon and the Sony TV have "picture tuning" features for , set uniquely for each separate HDMI input; however, the controls on the Sony are superb and much more detailed, better than those on the Denon. The result is that all inputs from theDenon HDMI output to the TV are played with the same video settings on the TV, any changes in "picture tuning" must be done on the Denon as they will now use the settings for HDMI 2 as set on the TV. This boils down to the all devices using HDMI outputs to the Denon are using the same TV settings, regardless the origin of the input. Fortunately the video output of DirecTv is very compatible with the Denon and results are very good to excellent. Since Blue Ray seems to be a disappearing device, and Blue Ray UHD discs very expensive, that device is left to its own vices, with little flexibility in picture tuning. Of note: the Denon and DirecTv have issues with the handling of Direct's HDCP coding and the sound periodically drops completely out when watching Direct. Since I am using the ARC function, the "on screen displays" from the Denon are "extremely hampered and poor" the many options for tuning are difficult to find and change on the limited Denon display. The ARC audio from the TV to the Denon seems to limit the options for tuning the audio as the audio from the TV is of lesser quality than the audio from the Denon. Of particular note is the ATMOS surround capability of the Denon. I would rate the audio function of the Denon receiver as a 5+ across all inputs except the ARC channel. I don't know if the difficulty of HDCP between the Denon and DirecTv originates with Direct or Denon, as all devices in the entertainment center are listed as HDCP capable, but I do know that that glitch is extremely annoying and when the sound drops out, either the Denon or DirecTv must be re-booted . I may be asking too much from the Denon, but reading the specifications, I thought the AV receiver would be matched very well in my system. I haven't scratched the surface in covering the hundreds of other "whistles and bells" found on the Denon receiver. There is a 300+ page manual which is well written covering those features. I would suggest, that if you purchase one of the receivers, you download and read as you install the receiver into your AV entertainment system. Another note, I found the Denon to be fairly sensitive to older or poorer quality HDMI cables. I recommend the Amazon Basics cables as the very least for HDMI inputs/outputs for this receiver. In retrospect, I would probably choose to add an "audio only" component and leave all video processing to the Sony TV which, on its own produces an excellent HD and 4K UHD pictures. I remain impressed with the Denon's capabilities in handling audio, even with mid prices speakers. I use Infinity main speakers, mid range Yamaha surround speakers, and Polk sub-woofer with excellent results. The Audessey setup and acoustics adjustments are superb.

Sounds good, Audyssey works surprisingly well, assignable amp channels for zone 2. Does a lot for the price.
BUT, the front left amplifier channel failed after only a few hours of use. Fortunately it happened within Amazon's return window.
Also, the bluetooth reception is very poor. It was breaking up from 10 feet away in the same room regardless of source device.
If you plan on using it for multizone purposes, note that you are very limited as to what sources may be used for the second zone. No HDMI/Toslink/Coax SPDIF support for Zone 2 source.

The unit replaced a 20 year old Onkyo THX receiver that still works but it did not have HDMI switching and I grew tired of switching from an external switcher which had a fussy remote so I purchased this Denon unit. I could not have been more disappointed with this product and Denon's support. When setting up I could not figure out how to save the settings for each input, it would save my settings then when I switched to another input it would unsave, and when I switched back to the original input everything was back to a default setting and not my saved settings. I emailed Denon support and after a few days my support ticket disappeared and there was no response. Ok, after a few days I figured out if I hold the input button it saves the sound settings for each input no thanks to Denon. Everything was good until 20 days later I turned on my projector and no picture, I checked all the connections, reset the receiver, tried using a new HDMI cable and connecting it to a small tv I had to no avail. Needless to say I was still in Amazons 30 day window and decided to just return the unit for another brand.

I purchased a Denon AVR-S650H (2019) from Amazon and the unit was delivered on December 12th, and have been struggling to properly configure the units various functions including configuring remotes, Bluetooth, HDMI/audio connections and install various apps. It has been a task. I cannot access their web site for the installation and users manual. The web site errors out. Their web site and support is "poor" at best. Links are not even provided to app stores. They are tough people to get a hold of or correct answers from. If major headway is not made by the end of today, it's going back.

Turned it off and back on again, no sound. Every time I wanted sound I had to re-do the setup. Finally went into setup again, and setup froze completely. Turned it back of. And on again, setup froze completely. Wash, rinse repeat. No good. Let setup run in frozen state for 1 hour, turned it off and Returned it.

1.0 de 5 estrellas Warning! Warranty is difficult or impossible
Reseñado en los Estados Unidos el 15 de febrero de 2021
Color name: NegroSize name: Denon AVRS750HStyle name: Denon AVR-S750HCompra verificada
I bought this unit about a year and a half ago, and recently the HDMI out shows a random black screen. It may happen 5 times for a second each every minute or it may not happen at all while you are watching. Sometimes it disconnects for close to a minute and the TV will show no input - Ive replaced cables and troubleshooted myself to verify the issue lies with the receiver - No problem I'll reach out to warranty. On Denon's website they only show a handful of warranty repair shops listed in the US. Tried calling Denon for support and the automated machine states higher than normal call volume (just like every other company i guess) and it hangs up on you with no way for you to leave a VM or start a ticket. No email is listed on their contact us website, and I've tried calling a couple service centers listed on their site and was told "we don't cover Denon anymore", or not receive a response to a VM left.

I highly recommend buying a product that has better customer support.
