Muy fácil de conectar y hacer el set up por medio de la pantalla de la TV, tiene muy buen sonido y el up scale a 4K, el sistema esta conectado con 7 bocinas klipsch Reference SF y un subwoofer de 200 watts RMS Boston Acustic, mas que suficiente para un cuarto de TV mediano.

Después de instalarlo de acuerdo con las instrucciones y una vez que encendimos la TV el sonido duró apenas unos minutos y después el amplificador se apagó inesperadamente. La luz de encendido parpadeaba en rojo, encendía pero de inmediato se volvía a apagar. Después de revisar en foros y comunidades vimos que a veces se presenta este problema y que se debía inicializar de nuevo presionando dos teclas y el encendido. Nada funcionó. Para un Denon nuevo es una absoluta decepción, afortunadamente pude regresarlo de inmediato gracias a Amazon no imagino el tormento de haberlo comprado en alguna tienda departamental. Definitivamente manténganse alejados de este producto, no vale la pena.

Traditionally the choice of receivers have been Yamaha. I took a chance on this Denon based on other reviews, quality of product and recommendations by friends. It's a nice receiver with lots of connections and options. Fairly easy to setup (including the calibration tool). The only thing I find with this receiver is the volume level. If it's not at least 45 and closer to 50 you it's very low and can't hear the audio. In the case of an action movie, It seems it has to be turned up louder to hear the dialog clearly and when the action kicks in it's almost too loud. The center speaker volume has been tweaked to be louder but not much difference. When it's up about 62-70 it's good all around. I like movies to be somewhat loud. Maybe all this is due to being located in a larger room and not very enclosed. It's the same setup used with a Yamaha. It was picked on sale and for the features comparable to a new Yamaha this was the better bargain.

I think the Sound Modes are a bit confusing. Do I want "Direct" playback, "Auto" or one of the others? I finally figured out that I want it to use Auto - which will choose from one of the Dolby or DTS modes are available from the source, e.g. BluRay. But when the source is only stereo, e.g. TV, then I want it to automatically switch to DTS Neo: 6 - which fakes 2-channel into 5.1 channel. Unfortunately that isn't the default and doesn't seem to be an option I can setup. Instead I have to remember to change. The remote control has buttons for sound that can be programmed for different settings - or so the manual suggests, but it is not clear how to do that. Instead, I use the iPhone app. The manual needs a (better) professional writer to clarify a lot of the explanations - C-minus!

I really like the features and how easy it is to set up. But this more of budget version of a receiver. The main thing I wanted this for was to do hdmi switching which it does at ease with plenty of inputs. However, it's a little under powered at I think is 85 watts. Really for a good receiver, you'll need 100 or 120 watts per channel and, as I said, features are pretty basic (but that's fine).

Great sound and video. Make sure to upgrade your old HDMI cables to get all the benifits of 4k, 8k, HDR, and Atmos sound. Would have given 5 stars except blue tooth doesn't always connect. Takes several attempts to connect.

Cheap and great but BE CAREFUL

This unit replaced an expensive seperates set-up in our master bedroom which had a 200wpc Adcom amplifier and a classic Proceed AV pre-amp, driving Magnepan on-wall planar speakers and high-quality sub. All the gear is powered by a fantastic PS-Audio PS-600 power conditioner (which improves audio and video). However, this Denon unit could not work with the power conditioner, for some reason. It sent it into fits. Solution: plug it directly into the wall.

That aside, once all set up with the provided mic and software, it provides a well-balanced and nice-sounding room full of audio with a surprisingly good sound. I wasn't expecting blow-your-doors off sound, and I'm not getting it, but what I'm getting is more than adequate and way better than what I was expecting.

Upon receiving this unit, I discovered it lacked the ch as Niels that I needed. I’ve owned many brands, but Denon was in a class of its own. Quality build, sound separation and the features of high end Iseparates all in one AVR receiver. I proudly own a 5803 ( best sounding AVR ever made, just didn’t make the jump to HDMI. All Denons are made to recreate to highest level of sound, the directors intended for the viewer to become submersed into the movie or recording. And there all user friendly

It took 2 days to get the levels I wanted with my Bose system, but it was well worth it. I wish it had another extra 50 watts, but I just push it to 75%. The surround is way better than my 23 year old Sony. And so think it was twice the price even back then!

I'm very happy with the product. Couple things that are disappointing: 1) Bluetooth is very weak and the range is very limited
2) doesn't work well with Google home.
3) cannot cast directly to it
4) adds unwanted graphics. For example mute button adds a mute icon to your tv/screen.
5) very bulky and doesn't fit easily in/on all tv stands

I gave this a four stars because I was able to get this receiver to do do everything I expected it could do. The remote doesn’t respond as quickly as I would like. It wasn’t as classy as the remote I had with my previous Denon receiver. The setup with Alexa wasn’t as easy as I would have liked it. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone with a 5.2 system.

For the price point, you’re not going to find a much better receiver. It accomplishes most everything I want out of a receiver and more. It is a bit clunky to control at times.
