Absolutely love my new star topper! So easy to assemble. My only issue is I couldn't have it lit as it has an American plug. But I knew this before I purchased. Great buy, great value.

Perfect size for our 8ft tree. I take horrible pics so the ones I added to this review didn't do it justice. So happy to finally have a simple but elegant tree topper. Super simple to pop together. I didn't even need the zip ties or stake that came with it to affix it to the top. I didn't care for the stark white look but I just gave it a dusting with pale gold heat resistant spray paint. PERFECT. I only had 1 issue. The bulb did not come with it as described. My husband had to go to Lowes to find an LED that fit. I did send company an email about the missing bulb but have yet to receive any feedback. For this reason I gave it 3 stars

One of the worst designs I've seen in a while and I was in consumer products for 30+ years. 1. Bulb socket when installed per instructions puts AC wire in a severe bend. 2. Clip that is supposed to hole socket in place, doesn't. 3. Takes a lot of effort to expand star into it's full shape. No reason it should be that hard. 4. AC wire occupies the same space that the "stem" used to attach to your tree occupies. Problem is there is not enough room for both. Bottom line is while $29 may not be a lot of money, it's too much for this product. I'm returning this one and looking for something better to adorn the top of our Christmas tree.

This new 2019 model has eliminated all the things that the older model was being criticized for! 1) You DO need to assemble the socket for the supplied bulb but it is a simple snap in retainer to hold it in place. 2) The electrical wire no longer exits in the same tube that the mounting stick goes into...they each have their own tube. 3) Main assembly is (as stated) simply open by fanning the two halfs open and swing two attached clips in place to hold it together.
I put mine on a Dwarf Blue Spruce in the front yard and it looks fantastic both by day and when lighted at night!! Have received several compliments on it. Love the fact that it is so three dimensional so you get the same effect all the way around the tree instead of just in front or back.

The assemble directions are worthless and the design of how the cord goes into the center it poor. I had to sand the socket down so it would fit through the side opening. Then the green support stick can go it the center hole. A little wiggly on my artificial tree but DAMN it looks good. Glows from across the room and looks beautiful. If you are handy and can reengineer it is worth the money. Not plug and play.

The instructions are totally unclear. The written instructions contradict the pictures. It comes with a stick to help attach it to your tree but you can’t put the stick in the hole because the cord is coming out that hole and there’s no where else for the cord to come out. And it attaches to the tree with zip ties. Really? The box is weird, the top doesn’t fit in the bottom.

Like maybe I got a Chinese knockoff. Or maybe it just sucks. I’m returning it. The included bulb is too “cold” so it doesn’t even look good.

Missing parts! The bulb was not included! The instructions say it’s included yet it’s not in the box. Making a Walmart run I guess to see if I can find one to use; if not I will have to return the item. Everything else so far look ok. Disappointed gave it one star for that.

Update: Bought LED bulb from Walmart and finished setting up the star. It looks great. I just wish it had been included in the original package. Updated review to four stars.

I found that it's important to carefully straighten the points on the star so the light will get all the way to the tips of the star points. Looks great now.

Our family of five always makes the tree a team effort. Hubby insists on multicolor lights, kids like LOTS of ornaments, and I've been searching for the perfect star for 20 years. This one might not be perfect but better than we've had before.
Pros
* Very clear and bright
* Diffused light
* Can't see any wires, bulbs or defects once it is on the tree.
* This size is good for a tall tree -- ours is 8+ feet in this photo.
Cons
* Came with a round bulb, maybe a slimmer shape would make it easier to "unfold" the star
* Difficult to attach to the tree - sits at a weird angle. We ended up getting a garden stake to put through the bottom and then tying the stake to the top branch , but still the star leans outward. Since our tree is against a window and tall, it was OK.
* Possibly a little too bright? You can see how it illuminates the whole ceiling above the tree. The kids felt like it overwhelms the other ornaments.
I like this star. Even if we don't use it as a tree topper I will use it elsewhere in the house as a cool nighttime decoration.

This is a beautiful product seemingly designed by an origami artist, and the end result is stunning. That said, it requires assembly and parts didn't fit right and required outside purchases to finish the installation. Were it not for my husband's mechanical ability, I would have had to return it. Instructions are not comprehensible. One clasp did not fit, and strangely the instructions said it was optional anyway (huh?). The 12" zip ties were way too long to fasten the star to a standard one-inch diameter tree top; fortunately had some 4" ones left over in my toolkit. Lastly, the star plug is *polarized* and does not plug into the rest of the Christmas lights that run down the tree. Instead, we had to buy a separate polarized extension cord to connect to the star. This seems ridiculous. Why polarized? Elf Logic needs to hire some engineers to help with the details that the typical customer expects in something so simple.

We were excited to receive this star because it's the only 3D tree topper we found. It arrived in a box that was soft and low quality. The package already hinted that the star is probably flimsy and cheap. We were hopeful because of the great pictures other customers had posted. Well, this star looked as if I had gone to a craft table at a fair and constructed it myself. The material is exceptionally flimsy, cheap, and one of the edges of the star was split. As we were putting it together, some of the points of the star were ungluing. Not worth $37.00. It looks good on the tree; however, I would expect no more than 10-15 dollars for this product quality. For $30.00+ tree toppers, I would look elsewhere. I'm not returning it because I want to make sure I have a tree topper for this month.
