Coming off the heels of Pulp Fiction almost any movie would seem "inferior" and many bash on Jackie Brown for just that. Which is rediculous to me, because although not as good as a movie that many consider one of the greatest movies of all time, Jackie Brown is still a great cat and mouse crime movie, with great performances and an awesome soundtrack to boot.

Jackie Brown has to be one of the most underrated movies out there just because of the directors previous movie, and it is mind boggling because off the top of my head I can't think of any other directors movie who had this judgement so harshly. Jackie Brown is a great movie that is definately worth watching and having in your collection.

If you like Tarantino films you'll love this take on the blaxploitation films of the 70's. Pam Grier plays an air stewardess unwillingly recruited to play a sting operation against nasty Samuel L Jackson. Cur the usual Tarantino dialogue and situations we all know and love. Great musical support, and all of the characters, and there are many, really do shine. I like the AK47 quote best myself. Thoroughly recommended.

One of Tarantino's less understood and appreciated films, maybe because he decided to add some drama and intimacy to his usual and irresistible circle of characters and brilliant plots and dialogues.
It is not easy to tune in with that, because as you start laughing then you sense there is something more going on, like this time he wants to know how they feel and not how they show or hide their feelings.
It is maybe a more classic Tarantino, with less abuse of music, some slower tempos and longer scenes and shots. It is like he wants to take a break fomr the story and, while it unfolds, he puts his eye on characters' relation and the way they develop throughout the story.
As usual he gets the best out of the actors but here he gets even more: De NIro best performance in years and a refreshing return of two old seventies stars
A film that improves everytime you watch it.

How can you not love this movie? Writer Elmore Leonard (Out Of Sight, Get Shorty, Be Cool) and director Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill) are teaming up together and the result is a great suspense story filled up with a variety of different characters who delivers one hillarious line after another. But hey: This is actually not a funny film. In a way the movie describes some people who have chosen to walk down a certain path in their lives - or have been forced to do so. Suddenly a bag of money (a lot of money) comes to everyone's attention. The big question that emerges is suddenly: Who outsmarts the rest and gets away with the loot? Notice how Tarantino tells the story visually by shifting from one angle to another. Sublime.

Any film with this amount of stars and Tarantino at the helm is going to be entertaining.This film doesn’t disappoint.
For me Pam Grier as ‘JB’ makes this film. Jackson is in ‘typical gangsta’ mode, whilst De Niro for once, takes a bit of a back seat! Michael Keaton is the rather ‘hyper’ cop and Robert Foster is the thoughtful Bail Bondsman.
I always think that the sign of a good film is that it glues you to the screen and you never consider looking at your watch – this score highly on these points.
This is a first class watch and a very entertaining film.
