I love the idea of bluetooth surround speakers, but even after a firmware update (that is supposed to correct the problem), the speakers work great for a while, then begin to crackle. It's a horrible noise, which can only be corrected by disconnecting the power supply to the affected speaker.

This is a known issue to Klipsch.

I am on my second set of these. Have had the same problem with both. They are too quiet and the right rear channel makes a loud popping noise after an hour or so use. I've upgraded the firmware on the Soundbar 48 and they got a little louder but the loudest noise out of them is still the popping. Volume up volume down doesn't matter they pop. Soundbar volume up or down. Same pop. Bass volume up or down same noise. I guess I could request another set but I emailed Klipsch tech support and we'll see what they say. I had problems with the Soundbar when I got it and had to exchange but not until I got a replacement from the factory did it work right. There was a range of serial numbers they had that were bad. I've seen some questions on these that a replacement set fixed the problem so I'm hoping there is a range of serial numbers affected and they can send me something that is not afflicted with this popping. Other wise I'll look for a refund and give up on having a rear channel.

I kept trying. They finally agreed to replace the soundbar for the 3rd time and the rear Surround 3 speakers for the 4th. I've been patient. I've tried a dozen different suggestions. Moving things around rerouting wiring plugging things in to different outlets. I even bought a $400 APC electricity cleaner. So they said we're going to send you a Cinema 600 Soundbar which has fewer issues. I asked them why they weren't replacing everything with a 7.1 so they would all pair straight out of the box. The aid it wasn't necessary the speakers aren't the problem. To be sure I asked if the new stuff would need firmware upgrades. They said no. Their firmware upgrades do not seem to go the way they think they do. Well I got the 600. It would not pair to the back speakers and was 2 firmware editions behind. This one the subwoofer has firmware update too. It says do the bar first. It locked up. I waited an hour. It wouldn't respond to any commands from the buttons or the remote so I unplugged it. Now neither it or the subwoofer will turn on. So I boxed everything back up put the Bar 48 back. Well I don't have to worry about the loud popping anymore because now they won't pair either. I'm guessing you can only pull the blue tooth dongle out and put it back in so many times before it fails.

So it's been a year trying to get a working sound bar a subwoofer that pairs and stays paired and rear surround speakers that pair and don't make sounds like there was someone with a 22 automatic firing it in your ear. This is really hard for me. I'm an old loyal Klipsch customer. I have 2 Lascalla Corner horns. The big giant wood ones. They cost over $5000 a piece and this was. 30 years ago. I have a 7.1 Surround sound system I bought from them that were also well over a thousand dollars. I've bought their earbuds and given them as gifts for anyone I think has a good ear for music. Over the 30 years I've owned my Corner Horns I've given hundreds of referrals and positive reviews. No more.

The worst thing about it is their customer service. It is Monday through Friday with a very small window in the evenings. So today is the third time I've taken off work to get some help. Using their email system takes sometimes a week for a response. I called Saturday and was reminded only weekend hours. So I took off to call today. They're closed for systems upgrades and training. No mention of that on their phone message Sunday. I'll be honest. They just don't care. I was a long and loyal customer and thats done. This is a horrible product with lousy support and I recommend you don't buy any of their wireless systems. They don't sound good are expensive and if you need support prepare to take a day off work. Sorry this is just too much bad and not enough good.

 I purchased these with the sound 48 and they were very quiet and scratchy so I exchanged them for a new set. The new set is exactly the same, very quiet and scratchy, volume on both are turned all the way up and can’t notice the sound unless I hold it up to my ear, so disappointed in Klipsch, $700 and a huge headache. Will be returning for a second time and not purchasing anything Klipsch again

I purchased the Klipsch Surround 3 rear speakers to compliment my Kilpsch Cinema 600 soundbar and sub-woofer which performed outstandingly, but the USB transceiver that comes with Surround 3 melted in the soundbar within 1 hour and stopped working. Also, one internal speaker was dislodged from the speaker housing upon first opening the box upon delivery. - I reordered but I am not as excited and a little disappointed. --- I would recommend the Cinema 600, it is wonderful, but I will reserve final judgement on the Surround 3 after receiving the replacement but my first impression was not good.

1/20/22 (Update) Yep Surround 3 does not live up to the Klipsch reputation, like other reviewers mentioned it pops and cuts out intermittently. I do not suggest buying the Klipsch Surround 3 Speaker Pair, Black, Model:1067530 but the Klipsch 600 is great and worth it.

Worthless! Klipsch Bar 48 FAILS to provide surround sound
Over a six week period, I had three BAR 48 units and three Surround 3 pairs of rear speakers. NONE of them produced surround sound of any volume or quality. At best, these Surround 3 speakers produced a whisper. Klipsch tech support admitted this is a major problem with the BAR 48. I compared the sound from the JBL Bar 5.1 and was blown away by the fully immersive surround sound. I returned the Klipsch Bar 48 and Surround 3 speakers for a full refund. Mind you, I'm a long-time Klipsch speaker fan, but after six weeks, 3 units and many wasted hours, I have to admit, Klipsch utterly failed on the BAR 48 soundbar with Surround 3 speakers.

Speakers are beautiful, I used a couple of small shelves I bought in Amazon, and they fit the speakers perfectly.
The pairing is not easy. Once the original pairing happens, there sound great for 1 second and then the volume goes to like 1 of 100. You can barely hear any sound coming out of the speakers.
It took some patience and time to get it to work - you can adjust the volume manually using the soundbar, just follow the instructions in the user manual step by step.
Once the pairing is fixed, the sound coming out of these speakers is great.
Unfortunately, one of my speakers stopped working within 1-2 hrs of playing music - very disappointing. I'm returning them and will order a new pair.

I’ll never understand why an expensive, supposedly high quality, name brand speaker specifically designed for my bar 48 is barely audible even after the firmware update and volumes at Max for both. Klipsch seriously dropped the ball on this and has guaranteed they will never get another dime from me. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. HARDLY WORTH 20.00 LET ALONE 250.00. I can’t help but feel bamboozled and ripped off. They look okay tho. Hey Klipsch, try another firmware update that actually works.

I Certainly wouldn’t call these a value ar $299. I wouldn’t call them a value at $199. They are basically little junk toys. Underwhelming.

Even after updating firmware, surround 3 speakers need to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset them. They crackle and pop almost daily, these are not good surround speakers.

I purchased the Surround 3 speakers in March. In May, one speaker began making clicking and snapping noises on occasion. By July, the speaker clicked, snapped, and buzzed with each use. On August 7, I emailed Support with a description of the problem, attaching an audio clip of the noises. I received a robo-email immediately stating Support would be contacting me. On August 17, I received an email stating Support was busier than usual, but I was not forgotten. I have had no contact from Support since. My email of September 9 expressing my dissatisfaction has been ignored.
Electronics fail at times, but when they do, a reputable company should make it right. Klipsch apparently does not. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK, or better yet: LOOK ELSEWHERE!!
