Not worth the money

Despite what others have said, I have been able to adjust the volume. Hold down “surround” button for 3 seconds. Then press the button again for the volume of the other speaker and hold down again to exit. Despite that they are underwhelming. I understand you aren’t suppose to hear satellite speakers all the time but I have volume maxed and watched saving private Ryan without hearing anything. You can hear them playing if you get close. They are on either side of my bed so can’t get any closer. I did the firmware update before I got them. Not worth the extra money, maybe worth $50. Instead of these get an SVS PB1000 and your stereo will rock. The sub that comes with the bar 48 is decent but another sub makes the world of difference.

I bought the Bar 48 + subwoofer as a Christmas gift for myself in 2019. I knew it had the option of adding a second sub and wireless speakers for a 5.1 experience, but was pretty content without it at the time. Boy have I been missing out, though. As long as you take the short couple of minutes to download and install the update off of the Klipsch website for these speakers on the soundbar, it is well worth it. After the initial setup they do sound very bland and even have a nasty feedback when not in use, but once you do the firmware update, the feedback is gone, the volume increases, and the clarity is fantastic. Can't wait for my next movie night!

Update #1: Watched The Room last night, and about halfway through the audio in both speakers suddenly cut out and did little more than make small pop sounds. They still power on and connect to the soundbar, but I can't get any audio out of them. Really hoping customer service can do something about this... otherwise not gonna be too happy. :(

Update #2: I re-paired and reinstalled the firmware update, that seemed to do the trick. So far so good, highly recommend these!

I am on my second set of these. Have had the same problem with both. They are too quiet and the right rear channel makes a loud popping noise after an hour or so use. I've upgraded the firmware on the Soundbar 48 and they got a little louder but the loudest noise out of them is still the popping. Volume up volume down doesn't matter they pop. Soundbar volume up or down. Same pop. Bass volume up or down same noise. I guess I could request another set but I emailed Klipsch tech support and we'll see what they say. I had problems with the Soundbar when I got it and had to exchange but not until I got a replacement from the factory did it work right. There was a range of serial numbers they had that were bad. I've seen some questions on these that a replacement set fixed the problem so I'm hoping there is a range of serial numbers affected and they can send me something that is not afflicted with this popping. Other wise I'll look for a refund and give up on having a rear channel.

I kept trying. They finally agreed to replace the soundbar for the 3rd time and the rear Surround 3 speakers for the 4th. I've been patient. I've tried a dozen different suggestions. Moving things around rerouting wiring plugging things in to different outlets. I even bought a $400 APC electricity cleaner. So they said we're going to send you a Cinema 600 Soundbar which has fewer issues. I asked them why they weren't replacing everything with a 7.1 so they would all pair straight out of the box. The aid it wasn't necessary the speakers aren't the problem. To be sure I asked if the new stuff would need firmware upgrades. They said no. Their firmware upgrades do not seem to go the way they think they do. Well I got the 600. It would not pair to the back speakers and was 2 firmware editions behind. This one the subwoofer has firmware update too. It says do the bar first. It locked up. I waited an hour. It wouldn't respond to any commands from the buttons or the remote so I unplugged it. Now neither it or the subwoofer will turn on. So I boxed everything back up put the Bar 48 back. Well I don't have to worry about the loud popping anymore because now they won't pair either. I'm guessing you can only pull the blue tooth dongle out and put it back in so many times before it fails.

So it's been a year trying to get a working sound bar a subwoofer that pairs and stays paired and rear surround speakers that pair and don't make sounds like there was someone with a 22 automatic firing it in your ear. This is really hard for me. I'm an old loyal Klipsch customer. I have 2 Lascalla Corner horns. The big giant wood ones. They cost over $5000 a piece and this was. 30 years ago. I have a 7.1 Surround sound system I bought from them that were also well over a thousand dollars. I've bought their earbuds and given them as gifts for anyone I think has a good ear for music. Over the 30 years I've owned my Corner Horns I've given hundreds of referrals and positive reviews. No more.

The worst thing about it is their customer service. It is Monday through Friday with a very small window in the evenings. So today is the third time I've taken off work to get some help. Using their email system takes sometimes a week for a response. I called Saturday and was reminded only weekend hours. So I took off to call today. They're closed for systems upgrades and training. No mention of that on their phone message Sunday. I'll be honest. They just don't care. I was a long and loyal customer and thats done. This is a horrible product with lousy support and I recommend you don't buy any of their wireless systems. They don't sound good are expensive and if you need support prepare to take a day off work. Sorry this is just too much bad and not enough good.

Just don't buy these. You will find out that they are riddled with issues. The number 1 issue is that they are very quiet. The only fix is to update your firmware on your sound bar, but if this does not help, you are SOL. After updating the firmware on the device I still cannot get the speakers to sound any louder than a mouse's fart. Klipsh has been less than helpful on their official site about fixing this issue and I fear it never will be.

Great addition to the Cinema 600

Bought the Cinema 600 directly from Klipsch during their black friday sale. Added these surrounds and have zero regrets. They add a great amount of depth to the overall home theater experience, without adding any complexity to the simple and clean Cinema 600 soundbar setup. Install/pairing was extremely easy by following the included instructions. My only marks against the Surround 3s are the price: At 249, these were almost the same price as the Cinema 600 while on sale for 299. This setup works amazingly well in my small theater room for less than 600, with no A/V receiver required. Just 4 power cords and an HDMI cable.

I purchased these with the sound 48 and they were very quiet and scratchy so I exchanged them for a new set. The new set is exactly the same, very quiet and scratchy, volume on both are turned all the way up and can’t notice the sound unless I hold it up to my ear, so disappointed in Klipsch, $700 and a huge headache. Will be returning for a second time and not purchasing anything Klipsch again

I bought these surround speakers to go with my Klipsche Bar 48 Soundbar. If I would have had other options I might have looked at them, but I wanted something clean and simple. And, that's what I got.
Very simple installation - just plug the provided USB dongle into the sound bar and plug in the power supply (one for each speaker). There is limited volume control for these surround speakers. They worked great from the start using a Blu Ray player. My one disappointment is that there is not more volume available.
If you are looking to get surround audio from a streaming device it's important to have a very fast internet connection and an adequate HDMI cable. If either one is sub-par most devices will self correct to a lower audio and video resolution.
Now that everything is up to snuff I'm enjoying great audio (and video) from all my home theater devices.
I'd recommend these surround speakers to anyone looking to upgrade an existing Klipsch Soundbar. Great sound quality.

Over a six week period, I had three BAR 48 units and three Surround 3 pairs of rear speakers. NONE of them produced surround sound of any volume or quality. At best, these Surround 3 speakers produced a whisper. Klipsch tech support admitted this is a major problem with the BAR 48. I compared the sound from the JBL Bar 5.1 and was blown away by the fully immersive surround sound. I returned the Klipsch Bar 48 and Surround 3 speakers for a full refund. Mind you, I'm a long-time Klipsch speaker fan, but after six weeks, 3 units and many wasted hours, I have to admit, Klipsch utterly failed on the BAR 48 soundbar with Surround 3 speakers.

I purchased the Klipsch Surround 3 rear speakers to compliment my Kilpsch Cinema 600 soundbar and sub-woofer which performed outstandingly, but the USB transceiver that comes with Surround 3 melted in the soundbar within 1 hour and stopped working. Also, one internal speaker was dislodged from the speaker housing upon first opening the box upon delivery. - I reordered but I am not as excited and a little disappointed. --- I would recommend the Cinema 600, it is wonderful, but I will reserve final judgement on the Surround 3 after receiving the replacement but my first impression was not good.

1/20/22 (Update) Yep Surround 3 does not live up to the Klipsch reputation, like other reviewers mentioned it pops and cuts out intermittently. I do not suggest buying the Klipsch Surround 3 Speaker Pair, Black, Model:1067530 but the Klipsch 600 is great and worth it.

Have this paired with the 600 bar and works great! After reading the reviews I made sure I had the latest firmware update. Once I received it, hooked it up and it all worked right away. I followed the instructions Klipsch included and the ones on the Amazon page to adjust the right and left balances.

They sound really good and it's a nice pair with this bar. They can get really loud. I was surprised based on the 30 watt rating how loud they can get. The only downside is that they're kind of big compared to other surround/satellite speakers. I really didn't take that into account since all the electronics are inside the enclosure with the speaker. With that said, choose your stand wisely. They have a little weight on them and to hide the power cord, you'll need a stand with a fairly large hole to slide the 90 degree plug through it.
