With that said, I was very impressed when we bought Maono's conference microphone that had a crystal clear audio with the body made of solid metal. So I was not surprised at the quality of this microphone being metal for the battery charging area as well as the overall build. The super long cord is helpful without being too limiting. If it's too far from the camera, of course, I switch to wireless. But wireless also means the units require charging. The cable sometimes works because it's simple and there are no worries of audio disconnecting.
The battery charges quickly and I'm able to use it for hours as well. It tucks in nicely under the shirt for discreet setup and the foam tip for when there's some wind outside.
This is probably by far the best bang for the buck for $20. You can't get a good quality usually from any lavalier microphone at this price but it works with a smartphone as well as a mirrorless (or DSLR) like my Canon EOS R. Very happy with the purchase and I highly recommend it!
