It gets the job done! I've used it for my trivia nights at various bars in my city for about a month now and haven't had any issues yet.
I had bought one from Target as a last minute resort and it was only good for that one night. I had to twist the cord and find that sweet spot and then pray it would work for the duration of my trivia night. I did however only pay $10 for that piece of trash.
Since this one was only a few bucks extra, I was reluctant to buy it because of my previous experience, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of this mic. the on/off switch makes all the difference. I will post updates if I encounter any issues in the near future with the cord.
I definitely based my purchase on the user reviews. If you're looking for a simple and dependable mic for karaoke or to speak in front of a decent sized audience, then look no further. You will get your money's worth.
I've had microphones before and when kids use them, they seem to break where the cord enters the microphone body. The strain relief gives up and the cord gets pulled out or wires broken. This microphone has a very solid connector that plugs into the microphone body. If it gets broken, it's got to be because little Jr. found his way into the tool box.
Sound quality is fine...it works for the little karoake machine that we have. Connector is keyed so there's no way to put it on backwards. No complaints.
I regret this purchase. I forgot how loud my children can be. Why did I buy this?? I stepped on the old one, that they hadn't touched in a year and had to replace it. Well they haven't put this one down in 2 days. I really shouldn't have bought it. It does work as expected and well worth the money.
Microphone works, but is completely unbalanced and has a large amount of self-noise. The capsule is very midrange-prominent, but has decent high frequency response. The switch feels nice, but since everything is not balanced, when turning off the switch, you just hear noise and hum as opposed to nothing at all.
The casing is a cheap shot mold plastic and feels like it would break if dropped a few times. Even the XLR connector on the bottom is not a metal casing.
The included cable/connector is unbalanced XLR to TS, however in my testing I used a standard balanced XLR line to a mix console. Multiple cables were used when checking to see if the noise/hum issues could be cable-related, but even with a brand new cable the microphone exhibited these issues.
Kiddos love their new karaoke mics! They work nicely but there is a lot of feedback/humming so we turn the mic volume down and adjust other settings to not hear it so much. The plug at the bottom seems very flimsy, but comes out nicely when you press the button. All in all it's a good buy on the middle side of microphones. I will update my review after a months use.
We have enjoyed this mic. I like the on/off volume slide on the side. The only down fall seems to be you have to have your mouth at the very top. It doesn’t seem to pick up sound on the side but not a big deal if it’s just a fun night of singing with friends & family.
I received the twi microphones as and when expected. In trying them out, I noticed that the volume had to be turned way up in order to be heard. The on-off switch (why I bought this particular mike) proved to be tricky to turn all the way off or all the way on; but what can you expect for a mike that is so inexpensive? The cord was a bonus but, unfortunately, the outlets for the audio were three prong, not a single plug-in.
You have to sing straight in to the top of it. It does not pick up vocals from the side. Unless you move your fingers while holding it ... it will pick up everyone one of those taps. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it is for my 10 year old and she does not need anything fancy for her karaoke machine.
