Buyer BEWARE! This lock requires you to download an app (TTLock) that will track your every movement (physically and online), set cookies on phone that cannot be cleared, and they sell all of you personal information to third parties. I had the lock installed and ready to go then read the 'privacy policy' before downloading app and decided that securing my personal data is worth more to me than using a door lock. I feel ripped off because I paid $315 and then they sell all of your information on top of that...it's sickening.

In the picture included with this review the batteries are installed PER polarity markings on the battery case AND IT IS WRONG!!!! DO NOT HOOK THE UNIT UP THIS WAY!!!! It will NOT work....PERIOD!
All four batteries must be hooked up in "series", to do this do the following, starting on the left side the battery is correctly installed with the positive terminal at top! the second battery from the left is WRONG, its positive should be at the bottom! not the top! the remaining two are marked correctly!!
This is such a BASIC mistake in manufacturing and inspection and sales of this company is committing fraud by even offering it for sale!!!!!!!!!
together with all the other complaints this simply should not be on the market!! It hurts EVERYONE!!

Executive Summary
1. The instructions that come with this unit are not complete enough for the average DIY person to install!
2. The instructions for initializing this lock are not appropriate to make initialization intuitive without help!
3. The lock unit is received with improper and/or missing METRIC screws and again, vague instruction and identification as to which goes where.
4. The lock assembly, while off the door paired with my cell phone through the downloaded app.
but I could go no further in dding finger print or other ID.
5. For such a GREAT idea and engineering/design all is LOST in poor instructions!
6. At this point I am thinking about a simpler dead bolt lock that only has a keypad, you know, one made in America with instructions and screws made to inch dimensions and American Standard Design. BUT I will have the hole I have drilled in my door to accommodate the subject lock!

The fingerprint capability Is a feature I purchased it for!
BUT
If you cannot use it, what is it worth?
First one I received, I couldn't get the battery cover off.
A new unit was sent and received quickly.
The cover came off the second one and I proceeded with installation!
I needed to drill one hole in my door.
The plastic cup and striker plate (into which the "dead bolt" locks) were slightly different sizes and required different sized holes dimensions than my original striker plate and hole in the door jam! I used my existing striker plate instead! (Does not affect operation but would have liked to use the hardware provided)
I installed the unit with difficulty only to find the unit inoperative! checked manual operation of deadbolt and it worked freely back and forth.

The first lock we purchased, I thought, was malfunctioning, so we exchanged it. Only to find out that there was nothing wrong with the first set, rather, it was the INSTRUCTIONS that isn’t very descriptive, only pictures and few words. We found out after hours of trial and error, that: 1) the deadbolt shaft was too long and the inside panel would not sit flush against the door, we trimmed one (1) mark off the shaft and it worked like a charm, 2) the instructions on how to figure out if your door is “left/right side” setting is flipped. Meaning, if your door opens right from the hinge, than move setting switch on panel to the right, that would be obvious, so we thought. WRONG!!! Somehow after we were done with installation we realized that when prompted to lock, the door would unlock, and when prompted to unlock the door would lock. Then we moved the setting switch to “left” (even though our door was right-sided) and WALLAH! It was functioning correctly. It took us two separate days of messing with this thing to figure all of this out. Looked for endless YouTube videos, found only ONE from manufacturer only showing hardware installation nothing about panel settings or troubleshooting!!! After all said and done, I LOVE THIS LOCK! Have not tried it with Alexa yet and I’m still trying to figure out how to connect it to gateway for remote unlock from app without being near lock itself.

This door lock is great. I like that there are four ways to unlock. Code, fingerprint, key card and key. The lock unlocks quickly and then will lock the door again depending on what the user programs in. I also like the voice Prompts. The interface for the phone works well and is intuitive.

The only problem was the lack of instructions for the installation. I had a hard time getting the lock to initialize. I forget the. Exact problem but I had something installed backwards. The English in the installation information was not very clear and I had to figure out what some parts meant because,the words they used didn’t make sense.

After I finally got it all figured out and completed the installation and got the lock working my housemates were very impressed. I didn’t tell them that I can now keep tabs on their comings and goings. They both use key cards and I use the code or finger print. I put one of the three keys in a key safe mounted on the wall near the front door. The keys are different from keys I am used to. I would not know where to go to get copies made so I don’t want to lose them.

I definitely recommend this lock for anyone who wants to automate locks.

Only 4 months?! REALLY? Standing outside at 19 degrees freezing weather trying to open the door and it won’t unlock because the pin for some reason refuses to open!!!! Key don’t work , card does not work, code does not work!!!! Worst purchase ever!!!
I would like to return this lock! Did not even last 4 months. Cannot contact seller !

The installation instructions were a little tricky but once it was installed, it's amazing! I bought the gateway and everything paired perfectly. I can unlock the door completely remotely. It's amazing. The left-right locking system was messed up when I first installed it though. When it said it was locked it was actually unlocked. I took it apart and switched the the button to the opposite and it worked perfectly. I don't know if it was user error or bad instructions. It looked like the left-right instructions were backwards. Anyway, after some frustration I got it figured out. That's why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise it would be 5. It's magical. Lighting up the keypad doesn't always work but I just read that you need to press and hold # to light up the pad when unlocking. (You also press and hold # to lock from outside - super easy). It's still early since my purchase but so far it's a great lock and does all the remote things I need it to do! I bought it in early January 2022 and I think there's already a new version out with a USB connection too. Love it. I wish it was made in the US though!!

I bought these locks almost a year ago and I love them. The fingerprint reads is extremely quick, and the app is easy to use.

Installation was simple as any other door lock. I got the motor shaft reversed originally and it would default to unlocked ksntesd of locked, but that was a simple fix.

The keypad is bright and responsive.

My only complaints are that I have to turn the keypas on by touching it first before it will read the badges.

Other than that, battery usage isn't too much of an issue. I'd highly reccomend buying some rechargable batteries, since it is a permenant fixture for your house and will always need them at some point. Changing them is extremely easy.

The best part about this product is the fact that it is a deadbolt! I use this as the only lock on my door so that when my hands are full with groceries I can unlock it from my phone in the car, or by the RFID badge in my pocket. The door doesn't need to turn a lever to unlock anymore, and I can just bump it open without worrying about dropping anything.

I have one for the front door and one for the back, and these are great locks. Great waterproofing as well.

I just wish I could turn off the "Locked" and "Unlocked" voice seperste from the keypad feedback.

I'm a very tech savvy person. I love smart objects. This was really a simple setup. Nothing but positive things with this. Setup. A breeze. Install was easy with template. The app is really self explanatory. The open speed is really responsive and quick. I can even use my s10+ to unlock it. It's also beautiful. I matched it with a handle from a home improvement store.

The lock is small and well designed. It looks very nice once installed. Every feature works well. You can set up fingerprint, passcodes, and IC cards, and each of those can be set up as temporary or permanent. You also have the option of physical keys. You can view/change status remotely and get notifications when it is unlocked. I've had it for about a month and I am very pleased. Very good deal! A word of caution... installation instructions are horrible including incorrect measurements. Use them as a guide but you are pretty much on your own.

I bought early 2021 and worked fine until I had to replace the batteries and then it went haywire. I tried 2 new types of batteries thinking it might be the type of battery and same result rapid flashing lights on the outside # pad and nothing is working no fingerprint reader no response when I touch the keypad. I now resort to the lowest common denominator which is the physical keys. Great I have a smart lock on my door that is brain dead. I regret buying this product and warn customers of my experience.
