Just received this and got to tell you the installation instruction was not very detailed. The picture and the actual product was not the same which made it a little bit confusing. But after a little while I figured it out and it fit perfectly. Very lightweight and attractive. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because there is a small blemish, like a light prism, on the screen which cannot be removed. Since I use this iPod mainly for listening and playing back my iTunes library music, it was not a really big issue. For the price I paid, I am very satisfied with this case.
I’ll keep this short. When I got it the screen protector had large scratches in it and there is pixilated dots all over the screen protector. I wasn’t expecting this to be some top of the line thing like an otter box but even for the price I except it to be in new, out-of-the-box, condition. Cheep Chinese garbage is what this thing is.
Case is very similar to the ipad case I Have from Griffith, with the main protection being tough rubber. Was very easy to take apart and put back together. No problems with pushing any buttons once encased. No problem with inserting the lightning cord for charging. No problems with operating the actual ipod. Screen covering is not the most sturdy plastic, so while the rubber may protect in being dropped don't know how something dropped onto the screen might do. Screen is relatively clear and not much glare.
But probably won't use long enough to review durability. Main problem is I use Panasonic earbuds which have octagonal shaped hard rubber around the plug. It looked like the case opening would be large enough for complete insertion of the plug but its very hard to do; the plug won't completely snap into the ipod earbud port and keeps coming lose. I had no problem with a pair of Apple earbuds that I don't like, the thinner circular plug snaps in no problem at all. Will see if I can work around but will probably try another case.
The case seems very solid and fit my IPod perfectly. The problem is if you have an audio jack and plan on using and audio cable you may run into issues. I have several audio cables and I was not able to use any of them without either modifying the end of the audio cable or cutting out part of the case to allow the audio cable to get close enough to the Ipod to plug in properly as the opening for the audio cable would not allow my cables to plug in. Maybe there are special audio cables with a longer tip that may work? If you are not planning on using the audio jack then this case would probably work fine for you.
This case could not be opened to insert my iPod 7. I actually had to cut the plastic protective cover. The case doesn't even come apart like the picture indicates. I don't know what this case is supposed to fit, but it certainly can't be used with my iPod 7th generation. I'm going to order a new protective case from Apple, which is what I should have done in the first place.
This is, in my opinion, a very good case. It’s not too thick, yet provides quite adequate protection. The built-in (plastic) screen protecter is very handy; however, there are a few ups and downs: it’s not hugging the screen like a glass one, so some moisture may get under there. It can’t crack. Etc. All in all, 5/5!!
The case went on easy and the controls are a little bit hard, not difficult, to use but it does the job for what it is. I have already drop my Ipod and the case worked as advertised and protected it, so I can't complain. The only reason I gave it four stars is just for the reason that manipulating the volume and the on/off buttons are a little bit hard.
My 8 year old got a new ipod for his birthday so this was a must unfortunitly the "screen protector" part came unglued and the plastic outer ring was broken when we got it it still does its job but is defective so only gave 3 stars
