I am replacing the stock speakers in my 2008 Tahoe with JBL GTO629 Premium 6.5-Inch Co-Axial Speakers. The speakers were advertised to fit my make and model and they would if I simply wanted to use sheet metal screws to attach them to the door panel. However, to properly install them I quickly realized that I would need an adapter. The problem with the SCOSCHE SAGMHR634B 2007 to 2015 Select GM 6.5” or 6.75” Speaker Adapter is not that the product does not fit but that it again does not fit properly. Product Dimensions are listed as 8.75 x 6.5 x 2 inches. The page on Amazon shows' two different pictures one adapter that is 1 inch deep and one that is 2 inches deep. That combined with the incorrect product description is why I went ahead with my order. Photo shows difference between adapter with the new speaker and the original stock speaker. A one inch spacer would be needed to get the same fit as the original stock speakers.

The plastic is a little thinner than expected, but the product served its purpose and it is a lot easier to use than trying to cut and modify the OE speaker to accept a replacement 6 1/2" speaker. Pro tip: Add some silicone adhesive to the door at the speaker opening prior to installing. Doing so will hold the speaker in place while you bolt in and also serves as an buffer to absorb some of the vibration of the speaker once installed. It's not necessary to use the product, but it's cheap insurance to prevent problems down the road.

These fit my 2013 Cruze perfectly. They're much thinner and flimsier than the factory ones but they work just fine. Be careful with the screws and you'll be okay. Tighten them too quickly or torque them too tight and they'll strip out. You might also want to use a thicker screw. The ones that came with my Kicker speakers were a little small. They still worked, but not as secure as I would have preferred.

Like others who have reviewed this item I needed to trim the inside tabs to fit my 6.5" speakers. This is because these adaptors are made for a WIDE variety of brands and styles from 5.75"-6.75", which is a good thing for the consumer. Tabs were easy to remove and my speakers then fit and installed without event. Will recommend to anyone with a newer model GM who is looking to upgrade the speakers.

I had a hell'uva time trying to figure out how to fit my 6.5" speaker into this bracket. There are no instructions that tell you to take off the inner tabs to make the speaker fit. Secondly i spent an hour with a knife trying to cut each tab, only to realize by the 2nd bracket if you just take pliers and bend the tabs they break right off.

With that being said, please update your instructions on how to make each speaker fit by size, and which tabs to break off (in my case I had to break off all the tabs to fit my Rockford Fosgate R1 6.5" speakers.

So I try to put them in my extended cab and realize that there was a big gap between the plastic and the door the speaker fits in there good and I was able to get it in there just fine but these actually belong in a four-door Chevy Silverado or GMC sierra Cadillac Escalade GMC Yukon Meaning if you’re going to change all of them be sure to check your rear fitment
