I had some difficulty getting these cables to function when they first arrived. At first I thought one of the channels on my amp was broken; however, after some perseverance both speakers came to life. The build quality of the cables appears good, but I was never overly excited by the sound quality - you get what you pay for I suppose. Anyway, after using these for a month and a half one of the cables has stopped functioning - the other is still working. Be warned.

These are high quality cables, very heavy, a testament to their actual gauge and copper content. However, there is one very minor design flaw. The thickness and therefore stiffness of these cables are why some people are experiencing banana plug failures. One can combat this by making sure there is little to no stress on the cables at rest. These cables will see heat and vibration and coupled with stress will almost guarantee failure at the base of the banana plug. Also, make sure plugs are screwed on tight with pliers to ensure solid and lasting connection. I have not had any issues or failures with these cables and can confirm the stated gauge. Buy em! Loose press-fit connectors (Update: Tip broke off)

I am reviewing the Deadbolt version. These cables look great, are very heavy gauge, and the banana plugs fit securely into my speaker and amplifier jacks, but there is a fatal flaw. The problem is that the tips of the banana plugs are not securely connected to the gold base that screws into the plug. It is a lose press fit and can easily be moved around causing inconsistent electrical connection. It should be soldered or otherwise permanently connected. I noticed this when one of my speakers was cutting in and out and I found that wiggling the cable end caused the connection to make and break. The banana plug tips are lose and physically rocking around in the plugs. It is beyond stupid to make such a high quality, OFC, high strand count cable with gold plates plugs and then use flaky press fit pieces that cause inconsistent electrical connection. I have not decided yet if I will attempt to solder the tips in place or return them. I am really surprised there are not more comments on this. I hope the manufacturer reads this. This cable could be really excellent if the tips were soldered in place.

Update 1/31/19: One of the brass tips just pulled right out of the connector. Now cable is useless. I will contact manufacturer and see if there is a warranty.

I read the reviews of this cable and the complaints that one or both of the cables did not work or failed early into their use. I did not really believe the negative reviews. How hard can it be to make a cable with a solid compression banana fitting? However, when I hooked up the new cables to my Primaluna integrated amp....NO SOUND from the right channel. After checking everything and switching sources, it was evident that it was the cable itself. I switch back to my old cable on the right side and.....voila.....sound. These cable look and feel like they are high quality and I am sure I can strip the end and put on my own compression banana plug and fix the cable, but I should not have to. At the price, these would have been a great value if they worked. Not working, they have no value.

TL;DR: THESE CABLES DO NOT MAKE COMPLETE CONNECTIONS.

Purchased these and was proud of my find for quality cables on the cheap. I was tricked, unfortunately.

These cables did not make a solid connection to my Focal Aria 948 speakers, and were rocking around inside of the binding post. I spent two hours trying to determine why I was not getting sound from my speakers (just got the whole system put together, pre/pro, amplifier and all) and I finally went behind the speakers, jostled the connectors around and voila! I had sound. I had to press down very hard to maintain a connection, and they unseated themselves from full contact and I had lost sound.

I measured and cut some bare speaker wire and used that to connect my speakers. It works suitably. These cables are not secure and are not lengthy enough to make full contact. Avoid these cables!

On the upside, they are robust cables with good cable construction. If I hadn't had 50 feet of speaker cable I might have just stripped these haha.

I was looking for a 12 AWG speaker wire with banana plugs to use with my speakers and this fit the bill. The product arrived on time. Other reviewers reported the banana plugs did not fit all of the way into their components or remained compressed after first us but I have not had this problem. I have pulled them in and out multiple times without a problem. My speakers sound better than with a previous, less expensive, product. I will purchase this again as the need arises.

I started having shorting out issues with these premade speaker cables. I can't tell where the issue is because the wires are sautered to the inside piece of the deadbolt connector. I own and use pairs of their deadbolt banana plugs in other speaker wires around my house and never had this problem. I wanted black wires and felt lazy so I wanted to try these premade ones. I don't know what the problem is with these.

I bought 3 (one for each front tower speaker and one for central speaker. One ofthe three did not work. I tried interchanging the bananas and it did work.....but for a couple of hours. Some friends who are experts in sound did not believe me a cable of this "quality" could go wrong. But it did. Anyway I ordered another one for replecement......hope it will work.....fingers crossed. Horrible quality taking into account there are very less expensive cables i have heard never fail.

I've bought 2 pairs of them for my main hi-fi system about 2 months ago. When I first unpacked, they appear to be legit. But after I attached with my system, left speaker has no sound, right speaker has a noticeable noise in it. When I changed them with Micca cables for desktop setup, it worked. I am very disappointed, I regret for my purchase for that SEWELL cable. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THESE SEWELL CABLE.
