Así se hable despacio o con voz explosiva, el micrófono responde muy bien a la gama de frecuencias de la voz, dejando un sonido claro, brillante, he visto que mucho mejor conectarlo a un amplificador para extender un tanto mas la ganancia. deberían de ofrecer una base para el escritorio sin que necesariamente sea un gran pedestal. el único problema es que al conectarlo a la PC con un cable que compré (capturador de audio) la computadora lo capta como un altavoz y no como un micrófono, aunque si funciona bien para captar la voz, pero es tedioso estar cambiando manulamente la salida a mis bocinas en lugar del micrófono recién conectado.

Lastima que Amazon agregue productos clones o réplicas, el micrófono presenta detalles de malos acabados y tornillos oxidados, ten enganchan por que son un poco más baratos pero no valen la pena. No los recomiendo para nada.

This is an excellent ventage microphone. I use it on a mic stand. Keep in mind It does not do a great job of rejecting plosives, and you should not use it with a pop filter, you buy this mic for its looks.

Be careful where you buy it from. Check the seller before you add it to your cart. I had to buy two of these after I got a Cloned one (see included photos) from an overseas seller with very low ratings.

Regardless, it is a nice mic to add to your collection, and it looks good on screen if you use it in your blogs as I do.

The iconic look of the Shure 55SH microphone is enough to justify it's purchase, but it helps to compare it with the similar (and considerably more expensive) "Super 55" also offered by Shure. While the 55SH is more affordable and offers the additional feature of a switch, it isn't as sensitive as some of Shure's other excellent microphones. You can compensate for this either by increasing the gain on the amp or using a PA preamp, and with those considerations the mic performs extremely well, especially in live conditions. The effective "super-cardoid" pickup pattern means that monitors can be placed directly in front of the singer and it will not feedback. I've used it for several months now in a swing band, and we love the way it looks and the way the singers look and sound when they are using it.

The only cons I can offer are a) we thought we would like the switch on the front, but it turns out that the switch can accidently be turned off by the singer (problem until the singer figures out what happened), and b) a singer who prefers to hold the mic in their hand will not like the heavy weight... it's meant to stay attached to the mic stand. We solved the first problem by putting a clear plastic guide over the switch plate to hold the switch in the "on" position. Remember this mic is meant to mimic the "good old days" when microphones were big, heavy things and no one held them in their hands. Elvis used mics like this when he first started, and radio announcers could hide behind their mics.

Shure holds it's retailers to a minimum retail price, so it's hard to get a deal on one of these. We were happy with the sturdy brushed chrome construction and performance of the mic, and I've already been asked to allow friends to borrow it for special functions. This one's a keeper!

Bottom line is... you can get smaller Shure mics that sound just as good or better, but if you want both retro looks and great performance, the Shure 55SH will be your first choice.

I like this mic because it does give me the chance to sing from all angles. One big drawback is that I have to put it on a boom in order to use it. When I play my guitar and try to sing I kept hitting the mic stand. If I used it in a live performance I'd make sure it was only used for vocals and not by someone playing an instrument.
Since I use it only at home for recording it really does a good job. It did take some getting used to because of it's bulk. Once I got it fixed in place it worked great.

The 55SH Series II is a classic product, with great sound, and well worth the price. However, I'm disappointed that Shure chose not to include a case or slipcover--important for those of us who desire dust-free and scratch-free storage and transportation of a precision instrument like this, and pretty much a standard in professional audio. The included bubble wrap isn't a long-term solution. A soft case would not have increased the cost of manufacture by more than a few dollars, but would have gone far towards long-term protection of the product.

Four stars for the product; no stars for packaging.

This mic sounds fantastic. great style and look. Negative points are that you need to sing in just the right sweet spot to get maximum tone. Not as forgiving as an SM58... You get used to it and I am still using it today. I have not tried to clean out the windscreen yet. As a wirking musician, this will need to be done at some point.
