*I know this is a long review. I just felt that the usual pros/cons type comparison wouldn't do these justice.

Before I got these I was really actually telling myself there is no way these are not some overpriced pieces of plastic. Even after receiving and unboxing, I still had that puzzled wtf look on my face as to how they could explain something so simple being worth so much. The box with that little rubber feeling was nice, yes, but nowhere extraordinary. Started going through the content: replacement ear buds, a micro-usb charging cable (really?), a hardcase cover, 1/4" adapter, handsfree adapter, bluetooth adapter, regular 3.5mm adapter cord and then it hit me. Through all this stuff, I noticed a little shiny key and a pillbox. Shuffled through the instruction manual and figured it was something they called "interchangeable nozzle insert" (Say what? more on that later). As silly as that might sound, I quickly plugged these into my super duper phone to try them out with my 320 kbps mp3 files to minutes later scream Myth Busted, these are junks! They sat in their box for a few days until I decided to figure out what is actually going on here. Snooped around online and figured this wasn't just some random overseas company, they seem like they really do know what they're doing. Look at their twitter, they're taking pictures with cameras probably worth the price of my house! Looked around some more and found out that perhaps simple mp3 files might not cut it. I found some FLACs and set up to play them on my comphuzer. I had nothing to test these against so had to find out which of my current gaming headset sounded the best. GSP 670 vs SE846, let's do it.

As anything, you start with your vegetables so I listened to a few songs with the 670. I spent a few minutes contemplating why I missed out on FLACs for so long in my life. You remember that Titanium song that played on the radio until we all went nut a few years back? I listened to the first 30 seconds on repeat, it was that good. And then the ultimate moment I'd been waiting for all week came. It was time to try out the 1000$ headphones. I plugged them and ahead we went. Within seconds, I was blown away, because I literally almost turned deaf. These drive so much louder, close to like 51% louder. Jokes aside, once I turned it down a few notches, for those in the know about ASMR, I literally had tingles from my experience. And you know the worst part? That same song mentioned earlier that I really really hate, I went through a whole minute of it without even noticing. It's a completely different world when you listen to something for the sounds instead of lyrics. Another thing you really quickly notice is that the washing machine running in the room across from you, went from a loud rumbling the house is gonna fall apart to a light thumping. I could go on and on about all this but it wouldn't make a difference in your opinion until you've tried something of this level.

Now let's get back to those plastic sticks in the pill box they scientifically call "inserts". I laughed at how ridiculous they looked. Like little straws for ants but at one end, an o-ring and colored paper taped to the walls. According to the little guide book, they change the sound by +/- 2.5 dB, whatever that means. The procedure to swap them out was far from a walk in the park. I was afraid to rip my memory foam earbuds tips by the amount of pulling force I had to apply to get them apart. And then you have to carefully remove the threaded collar with that tool, pop the little insert out, line up the new ones, put it all back together while making sure you don't break anything (I mean I'm more used to work on tractor size nut and bolts, gimme a break). And then I wondered: if I swapped both of them out, how would I know if they made a difference at all solely from memory? You guessed it, I went half and half. After trying them out, I decided to stick with Neutral, as I listen to music for the lyrics more than anything else. In my non white coat sound expert words: The difference they make is either more bass or more instruments.

So if you're still around reading at this point reading through my whole review of this product, here's my personal opinion. If you ended up here, there is a 95% chance you are not some 12 year old high school kid looking for Beats to annoy the hell out of everyone in the bus everyday from 4 to 6. You've probably done some research on the product and know what it involves or are looking for something very specific. I consider myself as an average Joe and before I went through all the process explained here, I couldn't possibly ever understand the nonsense. Now with that being said, would I ever go out and purchase a set of earbuds that are this expensive on my own? Probably not. But the main reason is that my limited 128gb phone couldn't handle my increasingly music collection at an average 50mb a pop for very long, if I were to switch to FLACs. As with anything, check yourself before you wreck yo self.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Really great sounding earphones BUT

At $999.00 a set, this is an item that you gift to a true audiophile, one who is looking for the ultimate in clarity and sound reproduction as well as sound isolating properties. Either that or to a professional musician. They would appreciate it.

FIRST AND FOREMOST. READ THE MANUAL! Trust me on this. This is NOT your average Bluetooth earphones. It has 3 different types of sleeves as well as "nozzles" for adjusting the frequency to what YOU desire. Charge the bad boys up fully before you try to connect.

It is Bluetooth 5.0 and it truly IS State Of The Art. With four high definition drivers, AND a low-pass filter for subwoofer performance, IN EACH EAR the clarity on these WITHOUT making adjustments kicks. Once you customize it to your liking, you may never take them off again.

Comes with 3 different cables including microphone control so you can use it for phone applications as well.....BUT WHY? This is not a Bluetooth set for common everyday telephony. This is for when you want to walk around with front row seats in the concert hall listening to the William Tell Overture as it was meant to be...blowing you out of your seat in the finale. I know. That is what I used to test these and IT DID!

It also has a headphone amplifier like none I have ever seen before. So that the clarity of the sound does NOT suffer in the least.

Sensitivity: 114 dB SPL/mW. Frequency Range: 15 Hz –20 kHz. Speaker Type: Quad High-Definition. Impedance: 9 Ω.
Includes SE846s, Bluetooth 5.0 communication cable, universal 3.5 mm communication cable, standard 3.5 mm audio cable (64"), micro-USB charging cable, clothing clip, 6.3mm (1/4") adapter, airline adapter, pair of nozzle inserts, nozzle removal key, premium carrying case, Fit Kit with a wide variety of sleeves.

If you are a TRUE audiophile or musician or know one, then this is THE earphones you want for them. These are, without a doubt, the BEST earphones I have ever had the pleasure to wear. And I have had some great ones in the past.

5 stars PLUS. If you want the listening experience of a lifetime, get these. Oh and it also works with my laptops as well as my Android and Iphones.

Now, I just need to hide them so my kids don't snatch them and hold them for ransom.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Exquisite
Revisado en Canadá el 21 de noviembre de 2019
Color: Transparente
Quite simply, these have the most exquisite audio I've ever heard in a pair of ear buds. If you're in the market for these, I don't think I need to speak to proper bitrate that will stretch these, nor do I need to mention anything about pricing. These are obviously in a different league; a 4-driver system with a low pass filter, I'm honestly amazed at how much tech they've fit into this tiny package.

The buds themselves interchange between the included cables, and come in the box with the actual cable adapter attached. Switching things to Bluetooth was very simple. I have always been skeptical of Bluetooth quality; you need the right mix of audio bitrate and distance and quality headphone or buds to get it right. These definitely get it right. BT 5.0 has a good throughput, and at 9 ohms with a high sensitivity, these get way louder than you'd ever need and have very little drop off at the top end (at least nothing that was noticeable without damaging my ears).

Quite honestly, I can't see why A-level bands wouldn't use these on set; they are simply superior in every way to any other ear bud I've ever tried. From the fit of the ear sleeves (and if you've never used sleeves that you compress to fill your ear you are really missing out) to the quality of the lows (listen to Intro by Yosi Horikawa for a good example of the dizzying depths of bass these can plummet), I've never had a better pair of earphones ever.

If I had any tiny complaints, it would only revolve around the cabling; I think they tried to make the bluetooth cables that run behind your ear formable, but they are just stiff and a bit uncomfortable. I do wish they were formable (like a twist tie you might get at your local bakery), but it's a sacrifice I'll put up with while I wear them in.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Amazing sound!
Revisado en Canadá el 8 de octubre de 2019
Color: Transparente
To set the (sound) stage, I've been doing audio-visual work for about two decades, and have owned several pairs of Shure IEMs / in-ear monitors (earphones), including the SE575's. I generally have a pair of SE112's around for random use as I'm not worries about damaging them, and I have a pair of SE215's with the older BT1 Bluetooth cable.

This pair of SE846's knocked my socks off. The first step was to listen to my usual reference songs as I know well what they sound like with other listening devices. The SE846's gave me a new appreciation for the details in these songs -- details which I hadn't ever heard clearly before.

The sound is well-rounded, and the volume available from the BT2 was excellent. This is the first time I've been pleased with the volume levels available from a pair of wireless earphones, whether Shure or another brand.

Granted, what I'm saying here is to-be-expected for spending this kind of money on earphones... but if it is your business to know sound, or you just really like listening to music the way it was intended, this is a great option that I would totally recommend.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Above what most people will need.
Revisado en Canadá el 22 de octubre de 2019
Color: Transparente
Honestly when listening to high quality audio files you will notice a difference between these and beats or Bose. These really are awesome. The problem is that 90% of the music I listen to is streamed or saved at a lower bitrate than what's needed to really notice a difference here. These would be ideal for someone in a studio or if you only had FLAC files. (I tested them with Marcus Miller silver rain on FLAC and it sounds incredible). For most music and most people the Bose QC earbuds would suffice and are a quarter the price.
The package is incredibly well put together though with lots of options to increase comfort (they are super comfy) and protect them in a nice solid case.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Pretty good, not worth 1k tho.
Reseñado en los Estados Unidos el 31 de mayo de 2020
Color: TransparenteCompra verificada
First I’ll say that I purchased these because I wanted to listen to one of my favorite artist album with these. (FKA Twigs, MAGDALENE) and the sound quality of these is amazing. I like the white filters the best. I just wish these things would play textures more aggressively. I also heard things I wasn’t able to hear before while using regular earphones. I think all three of these filters do really well with live performance tracks. The blue filters are very very neutral and great for making music. The black filters do really good on the low end, but of course you have to sacrifice the higher end frequencies, but you’ll never have to sacrifice clarity with these. I was skating and I couldn’t even hear my skateboard, or the noisy cars. Truly noise canceling. But you have to make sure that you get a good deal with earbuds you choose. The only thing I find really amazing about these is the absolute noise cancelation. If you can’t afford these, they aren’t worth it, get something else. I think the true price of these earphones is at most 600$ not 1000. I think these are grossly overpriced. why not provide an extra cord for everything? An extra wireless adaptor, an extra regular cord? And other new filters? It’s been, what? 7 years (correct next if I’m wrong) why are these still 1000 dollars? Great sound, don’t get me wrong, however these are worth 500-600 dollars not 1k.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Sound motitoring tool. Not earphones.
Reseñado en los Estados Unidos el 11 de diciembre de 2019

$1000 seems bit too much for pair of earphones. However, this isnt a pair of earphones. These are sound monitoring equipment you use to disect and hear / produce music as intended.

If you are looking for earphones, there are many many more better options out there with much better prices for the quality.

You can notice smallest details in the music or sounds source you are listening to. Breaths, claps, fingers moving on strings. Vibrant all around.

Bt2 cable is a great addition. Its convenient and 8 hours battery life isnt a joke. It really is 8 hours. However, for best quality of sound, swap to wired and you will immediately feel the difference in sound quality specially when it is hooked up to ext dac.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Truly exceptional experience except for one disappointing imperfection
Reseñado en los Estados Unidos el 1 de octubre de 2019
Color: TransparenteCompra verificada
Truly exceptional experience! This pair of earbuds doesn’t ignore a single detail in different type of songs. One down point to the one I received is that it has linear scratches on the interior metal cover. I’m not sure where those scratches came from, could be either a factory imperfection or a result of repairing. I don’t want any imperfections when I pay ten times the price to get something. Thus, I returned them. The BT2 Bluetooth cable is very convenient to use. It has more than 8 hours of battery life.
