At first I was thinking I would have to return this mic as it have a horrible crackling and distorted sound. But then it seems the drivers fixed themselves or something because now I find it hard to fault the sound quality. The mic is very sensitive, so be aware of that, but it picks up my voice in really high quality and detail. I have used or a few times now, including voice overs and vocals/dialogue for my music. I have been very happy with the quality for the price!
My two girls (7 and 10) wanted to do some youtube videos. I thought apple iphone head sets or my gaming headset with a built in mic would work, but it turns out the sound quality was terrible. Ordered two of these and the sound is fantastic, really clear, can't really notice background noise, and they look really professional. After reviewing the video / audio footage, I can say that the sound quality is really good
Great device and really clear sound. Initially I noticed it picked up some background noise. After trial and error I realised it was picking up the sounds from my PC cooler fan. It also picked up the sound of my swivel chair. This is not a problem for general web chat especially zoom as it has software to filter out the background. But if you need to record sounds for speech or song, you need to keep the mic away from your PC and ideally you should be standing.
I'm a uni student and a gamer. I use this mic for both zoom calls for lectures and in discord. Everyone I've spoken to say I sound alot clearer now as I was using the mic on my headset before. They can't hear any background noise unless someone is being extremely loud in the house.
Where it may be an issue for some people is it doesn't have a mute button on the mic itself. This doesn't phase me in the slightest as I can use the applications mute option. But if this feature is a must have for people then note that it doesn't have one.
But I cant fault it at all. It sits on the desk and I barely notice it unless I want to. It doesn't take up that much more space than a large cup of tea or coffee. It picks up my voice from aboyt 50-60 cm away roughly. And the price is good!
I'd definatley reccomend it! I've had I for 3 months now. So if anything changes I'll be sure to ammend this review in the future.
This microphone is nothing to be sniffed at for the price! I would say for the price this microphone does a fantastic job as I have a much more expensive microphone for professional use and this one I bought for my partner to start out with.
It comes with a detachable pop shield for those plosives and a handy little stand too. It’s a lightweight construct as you’d imagine for the price the build quality isn’t all there but I think what sound you get out of it is more important. Just be wary if you are mounting to a boom arm that’s spring loaded like a Rode PSA1 it might not be heavy enough to weigh it down.
If you’re just doing zoom, discord, early YouTube videos or twitch and podcasting etc then this mic is ideal for you to step into that realm and is of course a marked improvement on laptop array microphones etc. I would then upgrade down the line however as it’s not professional level.
Lovely full-bodied sound compared to my old one. Sound is clear and loud and noise-free, which is taken fir granted these days, but the real stand-out is the pick up of lower frequencies. Cheap mikes often sound thin and cold, with "something lacking" but this one gives lovely vocals. It is much better for karaoke as well as day-to-day use for video conferenes. Only downside is no volume control on the mic, you have to rumage in Windows settings for that
This is the first microphone i buy for podcasting. Very happy with the design, assembly and use. The quality of sound is really good in my opinion but note I am not a professional. It does the job for me and I am glad for the purchase but a more experienced person might consider it differently. As a beginner, my feedback is positive
I had no experience with microphones before. I wanted this to read some tales for my niece, so all I was looking for was background noise reduction and anything louder than my webcam mic. I think it is great! It faintly picks up noises from the adjacent room but nothing from the street and it does a great job with filtering irrelevant sounds. It does slightly distort anyone's voice into this cool radio voice but I really don't mind, in fact, it's good fun to hear myself disguised as a presenter of a program regarding classical music.
Looks good, easy to set up, much better sound quality and all at an affordable price. Quick delivery too. I use it for Zoom calls, and for recording talks and clips for inclusion in our Facebook church service and it has made the co-ordinaries task much easier. As an ageing technology user (now 80+) I would recommend this microphone
