Good but can produce similar if not exact results for a £5 job down any DIY store. Drums sounds good with them on however has made it difficult to hear other instruments in band. I use these 50/50 better than not wearing anything I guess but not overly amazed by them.

Der Sound mit den Dingern ist echt fett. Gittarren & Co. müssen allerdings ordentlich gegenanstinken, um durchzudringen.
Leider kommen manchmal die Stahlbügel aus den Plastikhülsen (direkt an der Hörmuschel), so dass man sich mal pieksen kann. Das sollte eigentlich nicht vorkommen. Daher nur 3 Sterne.

I purchased these as an alternative to my usual Etymotic earplugs, as those plugs, while great, seemed to be causing various ear maladies over time. Functionally, these guys do a fantastic job, lowering the volume without reducing the overall sound quality too much. That said, I have to be pretty careful putting them on -- the left earphone tends to slip off when I remove them. (Having a pointy headband wire jab itself into your temple isn't too fun, let me tell you.) No idea if that's a common thing or if I just got a bum pair.

Update (2015-09-03): Based on Dan's review, I picked up a pair of 3M's Peltor X-Series Over-the-Head Earmuffs . Verdict: they're better in every way. They're just as good at attenuating sound, they're better made (no risk of eye-gouging!), and they're half as expensive. Save yourself some cash and grab the Peltors instead.

Adequate Isolation Headphones

These headphones do help to take the edge off the noise around me, but unfortunately not enough at times. They fit very tightly, so be careful if you're sensitive to pressure headaches. Also, they aren't as adjustable as I would like & when I tried to get them to pull down farther so they weren't so tight, one of the metal pieces came away from the earpiece & hit me in the face - slightly painful is an understatement. The only reason I kept them is because I have tried so many different kinds & these were the only pair that came close to giving me some relief from all the chaos I work in - otherwise, I would have sent them back.

Protects my ears during practice. Actually makes my drum sound better, takes away that "ring" and makes your acoustic drum set sound like an electric kit.

What made me say 3/5 stars was how often the metal rods came off the ear mufs. It actually scratched me good when I was removing it from my head and left a scar. They bend essay, causing the overall headphone to feel somewhat low quality/cheaply made. Price is good, but if I wS to purchase again, I would spend a little more on higher quality material. Hope this helps

It does an awesome insulation work but it's construction is not the best. I have been using them for almost 3 months and now one of the headphones holder (wire) came out from their hole (see the photo). This is a bit dangerous because every time you put the headphones (and adjust their length) the wire will pop out from their hole and scratch your head. By the way that hurts.

Really kills set dynamics and causes me to play louder. But ... it works though and definitely cuts the sound. Earcups seal well even on my 10 yr old. Wish they made a pair that cut a little less but it could be me, my hearing may already be slightly compromised. I am glad to have them around we have 3 drummers and they like using them.

Noise cancellation works as expected, but they are very uncomfortable and tight. I normally wear size M helmets, so my head is not particularly large, but I am unable to find the position when I can wear them for longer than 30 minutes. 3M seems to be a better deal for the money.
