Son extraordinarios por donde se les vea...
No pude hacer mejor compra.

After spending many hours researching the world of high-end headphones I finally settled on the Beyerdynamic DT150 Headphones. I have fond memories of using the older DT100s when I was in a band and the DT150 are identical in design. It is worth noting I purchased these headphones for listening to music in work (an office environment).

Scroll to the bottom for a summary.

Design:

Personally I love the sturdy box-shape of these headphones! They are classic and have absolutely no need to change, they have proven the test of time over decades of studio use. Beyerdynamic rightly opted for a subtle dark grey than the off-white the DT100s offer. I really like the way the headphones look.

They arrive extremely well packaged in a simple Beyerdynamic branded box. The cable comes in a nice resealable bag too.
Build Quality:

This is where Beyerdynamic have it spot on; these headphones feel astoundingly well-made. The speaker casing is a solid formed plastic that will undoubtedly survive even the most demanding studio environments.

The cable is extremely thick and arrives disconnected from the right headphone. You'll need to plug the cable in and use a small screwdriver to tighten the locking screw - this design means that the cable is held in well and that pulling it will put strain on the locking screw, not the connector at the end.

The same locking screws are used to secure the cable from the right speaker to the left; it is threaded through the headband which is then wrapped in a cushioned piece of material that is fastened using buttons. The result is a very secure cable that is also hidden away.

Each speaker is mounted to a thick metal strip which is moulded into the top section, they can be removed by the two locking screws clamping them to the metal. Because of this, each speaker can be adjusted in height quite dramatically, I imagine to deal with being used by various people in a studio environment.

It should be noted that you can buy spare parts for literally every component of these headphones.

They are extremely conformable; they cling tightly without applying too much pressure.

Sound Quality:

This is always a tricky area and what I may consider to be good, you may not. Beyerdynamic claim to have made these to be as close to DT100s as possible while increasing bass. In my opinion they provide plenty of low-end and I can hear parts of music that would otherwise go unnoticed, however, they under perform when it comes to sub bass. (This can be remedied to an extent using an EQ)

The sound stage on these are great, I can hear every instrument clearly and it sounds very deep; I can imagine for gaming that these will fully immerse you.

As designed for studio use, I love how these headphones are completely neutral. By that I mean they do not interfere with the sound at all by trying to add bass or vibrancy. What you hear is pure and unchanged.

I listen to many genres of music but the biggest improvement I've noticed since buying these would be metal. Songs that used to sound too noisy and "messy" now sound great! All too often would I notice guitars merging nastily with the drums (especially kicks) that was simply unpleasant. Now I can hear how each instrument compliments each other as the artists wanted them to be heard.

One thing I didn't think about when buying headphones was noise isolation. I work in an open plan office and as soon as these arrived I was worried that people would be able to hear what I'm listening to. Thankfully after testing it out with my colleagues, nothing can be heard once they are on. I can still hear background noise when wearing these but it muffles them to a satisfactory level.

I've been using these for daily since April and they are just fantastic! I have them paired with an FiiO - E10K DAC and Amplifier which drives them just fine.

To summarise:

Pros:

- Great sound stage
- Untainted frequency reproduction
- Awesome design
- Highly durable
- Replaceable parts
- Very comfortable

Cons:

- Supplied cable is VERY long (I bought a shorter one online)
- You WILL need an amp (not a con as much as a warning)

I truly believe that these headphones are up there with the best in terms of sound quality and price. I highly recommend them!

5.0 de 5 estrellas OMG, I wish I'd bought these years ago!

I've owned quite a few pairs of headphones over the years. Some very high quality pairs from Sony, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic etc. I needed a closed back pair to use in my office/man cave - my desk is <3 feet from a fairly noisy (especially when the roof-mounted fans kick in on temperature control) server cabinet. My trusty old open-backed Sennheiser HD-580s were no good as the fans are louder than the music! I tried a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro cans, but they have a really 'closed-back' sound signature and the soundstaging isn't great. I remember being really impressed by an uncle's DT100s many years ago and after some searching around, came across the DT150s. Despite having them only a few hours on them (they only arrived today and are still breaking in), they sound absolutely brilliant. They're not too heavy and are superbly comfortable for long-term use. Mine are DSP EQ'd in Roon to flatten them out a little to a more neutral response with a Jan Meier crossfeed filter and are the closetst I've heard a pair of cans sound to my hifi speakers which are in an acoustically treated room. Soundstage width and depth is uncanny for headphones. Bass is deep and tight, the mids are smooth without a hint of harshness and highs are crisp and clean. They're just so enjoyable to listen to it's unreal. They're 250 ohm, so need a headphone amp to drive them properly. If you have the source equipment to run them, it's a joyful pleasure to stick them on your head and lose yourself in the music!

5.0 de 5 estrellas One of my favorite Sound signatures

As another customer has already pointed out, the quality control of these is a bit hit and miss. Surprisingly so, as it's a German-made product...

First I got a pair through a deal on Amazon's warehouse. The deal was too good to be true but the unit I ended up with had quality issues and most importantly showed channel imbalance. Therefore I eventually had to return it.

I got yet another pair from different retailer which despite being factory sealed had also exhibited channel imbalance - poor driver matching! It was then that I started worrying about my hearing gotten degraded. Fortunately for me (and my hearing) I was wrong!

Eventually the third pair was the lucky one. It is perfect on all accounts and its sound quality is one of my favourites ever. The fact that I reach for the DT-150 more often than my HD650 speaks for itself.

Excellent musicality, naturalness and one of the best sound isolation on offer I have tried on a closed-back headphone.
In fact the signature is very similar to the HD650 but probably a tiny bit more energetic and engaging.

As long as you get a good unit, most certainly, you won't regret it.
In my case it was worth the hassle!

5.0 de 5 estrellas Absolutely fantastic!

I’ve owned Extreme Isolation headphones for years and they have been my main studio headphones. We had a recent rehearsal and I was complaining about my mix when the drummer said to swap headphones to his DT150’s. What a difference!
I know extreme isolation headphones are designed for isolation to stop click bleed etc (hence the clever name) but the sound quality on these DT150’s absolutely blew away every other studio headphone I’ve tried.
I don’t mix using headphones but could definitely mix while wearing these.
Needless to say I now own a set and the bassist has ordered a set too.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Great sound and built like a tank.

Dt 150s are an industry standard. Perfect for tracking vocals or guitar in a studio. They also sound great, and have a flat and honest sound. Most headphones are scooped in the mids to create a hifi sound. These are not. That means you can hear guitars, vox, snares very clearly. But they also have great bass response unlike the dt100.

Built like a tank, but will always have spares available because they are used in many different industries.

A no brainer for £109. Be sure to have a decent headphone amp or audio interface because they are 250ohms.

5.0 de 5 estrellas DT150 has gotten all my affection

These Beyerdynamic dt150 are my third pair of headphones in nearly a decade, a true revelation in my book since they became my favourite cans so far to the point I would consider buying a 2nd set in the future. Since I put my hands (and ears) on these I've been discovering a renewed pleasure in music listening, they render everything soooo much better than my two other pairs, (Audio Tech m40x & Shure srh 840 ) no matter what I play with these big babies it would simply sound extremely enjoyable ! also despite the high impedance of 250 ohms they aren't hard to drive at all, can wear them for long hours without experiencing any fatigue of any kind. No shrilling in these, no harshness or weird peaks in the high frequencies, no muddiness whatsoever, no distortion at high volumes but smooth balanced, musical, detailed, pleasant & engaging presentation throughout the whole spectrum.

Great sound through NAD amp and iPhone 5. Plenty of bass. Fit well (I have big ears and a big head) with enough pressure to keep them on but not so much as to cause discomfort even after several hours of use. Considered design means every part can be replaced individually. 3 metre straight cable attaches to headset and is held in place by a screw. Has both 3.5mm and 1/4" jacks. Can't recommend highly enough.
