I can only recommend not to buy this product if you are using Windows10. Neither the Firewire nor the USB drivers works. The home page of Behringer is not really user friendly. I gave up on this and are selling it again.
After 4 months of intense use, I woke up one day and there was no sound. I can't tell you how disappointing this is, although, I can tell you that this is a hardware problem, because the MIC/INST all stopped working at the same time. The unit used to run a little bit warm, but now there is nothing, as it is cold to the touch. I think a dusty tear fell out of my eye... This is the second firewire product from Behringer to fail me in the last two years.
I am not happy with this outcome, because I now know the trouble a person has to go through to get repairs. I am officially never going to purchase Behringer products again. I have owned a lot of hardware over the years, from many manufactures, but this foray in to firewire products from Behringer has demoted my faith in computer audio altogether by a few notches.
The latency of this product was becoming a problem as well, but what can you expect with the price-tag as low as this.
My next purchase for computer audio is going to be well researched and acclaimed by many professionals.
Two middle fingers way up to Behringer for these cheep DISPOSABLE products!!!!
First Off I love Behringer. They general provide quality gear at prices that real musicians can afford.
But this piece is crap. It looks good. But it is not a 16 channel I/o interface. Yes it is capable of processing 16 channels and streaming to your computer, But it is not capable of taking in 16 inputs on its own. You need an additional 8 channel device hooked up through its rear panel optical interface to utilize channels 9-16 on the FCA1616. This is not clearly stated anywhere with the product. So if you are looking for a standalone 16 channel audio/PC interface, move along.
Yes I do know that expecting to find a 16channel audio interface at $250 is unrealistic, but hey - that's what this thing is being described as. Unfortunately it has proven the reality of this principle. And even more unfortunate - I can't even gauge whether this this is good for an 8 channel piece because upon installation, the drivers are failing to recognize the device. So I can not get it to function.
