Having read all the reviews between here and Sweetwater.com, I can say that I've been able to replicate just about all the reported issues; from clicks and pops to various connectivity errors, and it all comes down to missing or botching a step somewhere along the way. If you want something that "just works" out of the box with no installation procedure, you might want to do some more shopping around, and for that I dock a star.
On the other hand, if you tend become intimately familiar with your hardware, (you read the reviews, you watch the unboxings, and then you tinker with EVERY advanced setting available,) then there's no reason why this interface shouldn't install correctly and serve you well for years to come. I'm running mine under Windows10, Behringer's ASIO driver v6.13.0. MY DAW (Ableton) picks up on it right away, the sound is free of artifacts at all sample rates / bit depths, the latency is almost nonexistent, not to mention the unit looks great in my rack!
What's more, the Windows WDM integration is flawless so I don't need to configure every last bit of software to output to ASIO, or worry about getting sound from software that doesn't have those sorts of audio output settings. There is some momentary "crackle" as you switch from one sample rate to another, but I rather like that, it's kind of like being able to hear your car shift into a different gear; that audible confirmation of a shift in performance. I'm pleased with my purchase.
This is an excellent DAI. I currently use to record with Pro-Tools and have very little issues with the unit. I most recently used this unit to record my Churches Christmas concert and the Behringer FCA 1616 worked like a champ. Now the reason I gave it 4 stars is that documentation that comes with unit is poor at best. For me I days of frustration trying to et Pro-Tools to recognize the unit. It came down to switching it from fire wire to USB. I do recommend this DAI highly to any one looking fro a reasonably priced DAI, but be patient and ready to search for solutions.
