I am so stupid to trust this Product specially from alocation who are always deceitful by nature . They cleverly worded the aluminium cable with copper cladding - Read the fine print and if something sounds like a good deal - Double Check it . The wire is too soft and breaks very easy and it DOES NOT provide the strength to a simple tug and breaks very easy - Do Not buy - always prefer a full copper cable
i dont know what this is they call it wire but its more like yarn.14 guage is a joke as well.i have 16 guage monster wires that are thicker.solder will not stick to this wire at all.2nd time ive got burnt through false claims.strands break off when tightening into speaker.its all a frustrating deal.
Look great, seems like high quality material. Three issues I experienced however. 1. Barrel never really screws down tight 2. Plugs needed crimping to fit without forcing into holes. 3. Due to difficulty above before I started crimping, multiple barrels would slip past the end nut component and it would get stuck in the middle of the barrel.
Was swearing up and down with these. Using tonight/tomorrow until different product arrives. Will try to return.
Bought this a couple months ago and finally got around to running wire for a couple speakers in my living room. Quickly found out there's not 100 feet of wire on the spool. More like 40 feet. I couldn't even run two speakers with it .. very aggravating.. had to splice it. My living isn't that big..jeesh..
If you make the mistake of buying these without reading the reviews like I did. Make sure you have a vise-grip and a pliers and have some time on your hands. I also needed a pick to remove excess wire that got stuck in the threads. The pieces only went together with just 2-3mm of wire sticking out, and then carefully folding those over in a single layer fan, and then screwing everything together with a the two pliers. Monoprice normally makes good stuff?!
Quality sound comes from copper wire not aluminum. Thats the reason homes are wired with copper not aluminum. If using aluminum the wire would have to be three times the thickness of copper to be equal.
Trying to put this cable into a Banana Plugs is the bane of it's existence. It's so fragile and so uncooperative that you will be lucky if you get in there securely, yet alone with them at equal lengths. You get what you pay for spend a little more for pure copper speaker wire.
