I didn't realize until after I purchased this. The wire is actually aluminum with a tiny amount of copper plating on the outside. This means bending the wire back and forth just a few times causes it to break easily. It will also corrode in wet conditions I found the wire ends that I clamp into my subwoofer would break off easily and come apart because aluminum is so flimsy and doesn't handle being bent or crimped very much.
Buy full 100% copper wire. Avoid "CCA" or "Copper Clad Aluminum"
Does it 'work'? Yes, it does function. But it's cheap crap that will fail quickly.
This is a tough one. I didn't catch the part about it being copper jacketed ALUMINUM wire, so, my fault. The print was too small and I just missed it. I can't comment on any of the three features because I can't use it. Just heads' up when you're shopping. This might work fine for your application, but it doesn't for mine.
Poorest quality of speaker wire I've ever owned. The copper lines are thin, hair-like, fragile and almost unmanageable. JBL/Onkyo system sounds like a tin can system and there is no robust sound. Would not recommend and will need to replace/repurchase.
The 14 awg wire works well. Sound quality is good. However, the reel was supposed to have 200' of wire and it only had 196'. I planned on using 8 strands of 25' each but had to make some adjustments and cut corners. Disappointed in the shortage. i measured the reel 4 different times to make sure I wasn't making a mistake and I was not. The wire was 4 feet short of 200'. Disappointed.
