This system is actually very good. Had to purchase TNP RCA Extension Cable (6 Feet) 3RCA Composite Video Audio Extender Adapter Cord Wire Coupler Male to Female Dual Red/White Connector Jack Plug Extend Video Audio 2 Channel Stereo (Right and Left) for the rear speakers. Sound is good.
To those complaining about the volume. Maybe it has more to do with your TV and not the surround system itself. Firstly, the speakers are not wireless. They must be plugged into the back of the subwoofer unit. Secondly, you can hook it up via a Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter like I did or you can opt for the regular red and white RCA jacks.
I have a 65 inch RCA Roku TV. Most newer tv's have an audio jack and you just plug the Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter(sold separately eleswhere) 3.5mm audio jack into the headphone jack on the TV. The system will beep twice and it will be paired. On my TV I can raise the volume up to 100 bypassing the 30db surround sound system limit by using the TV Remote.
It's extremely easy to set the volume for each speaker including the subwoofer. The sound quality is excellent when done this way, otherwise it will continue to remain too low.
The only disappointment I have with this purchase is that all of the other speakers must be plugged in and are not truly wireless.
Wow! This affordable Audio system has turned my Livingroom into a HD Theater system and concert hall!
The sound is amazing and the remote allows you to dial in the sound from where you are sitting.
I had the system set up in minutes and was enjoying incredible sound quality.
I did have to order an adapter to convert my optical output to RCA.
That is my only complaint.
It cost me an extra 22 bucks.
But the money I saved on the Acoustic Audio system meant that the overall cost was still just over 100 bucks and well worth the experience of full surround sound while watching movies or listening to music. .
We did find that we had to change our settings in the movie app, and on the TV to match the best quality sound with no noise.
I bought this speaker set up in 2017, here I am in 2021 and they still sound spectacular to me. I use them mostly for music on my PC set up. The bass can get overwhelming while watching movies(especially scary or action movies) but you can just tune it down using your sound settings on your computer. Keep the dust off the speakers and you should have yourself a good long lasting set.
You can't change the wires on the speakers and there are no mounting slots on the boxes. So this is strictly for someone who wants pretty great sound, quick set up and forget.
I was surprised at the sound quality for this price point...i read some negative reviews but decided to buy it anyways..in alot of the negative reviews sometimes people just dont have any idea how to properly set up the item in the first place..this is the case with this system..i have owned it now for over 6 months and its still working fine..
For 120 bucks I don't expect much, but these speakers have surprised me. Sound quality is solid and bass is very decent even over bluetooth, and I have a pile of Sennheiser and expensive AudioTechnica headphones to compare with. Bluetooth just works: it paired flawlessly to my Android phone and I played some youtube video on the speakers, and it paired to my Ubuntu laptop (after I'd restarted the bluetooth service). Pairing works a lot like pairing to your car audio: you turn on bluetooth on your phone, select the speakers and audio plays there. The bluetooth channel works so well that you can use the remote control to change audio tracks: the command gets sent to my laptop and VLC player does change the track. That's surprisingly polished experience.
The downside is that bluetooth channel is only between your audio source and the subwoofer: the other 5 speakers have to be connected with wires to the subwoofer. Still, you can put them in your living room, hide the wires in bookshelves, and transmit audio over bluetooth from another room.
I received this yesterday and got it hooked up easily. I have to do some things to mount the speakers, but I am really impressed with the value for the money. The subwoofer rumbles the floor. It's quite loud, as loud as I like it to be, and clear at least to the point at which I had it turned up. I hope it lasts. It is also quite attractive.
