5.0 de 5 estrellas Just wow!

Bought with my own cash money.

How have I bought 30 + cans over the last 18 months and only now am I discovering these!?

They really are a bewitching gem! Heavy and bulky yes but man is it worth it. The weight can be alleviated somewhat by the tension dial on the headband so they're doable but after a while they're comfortable. But I'm used to Beyer DT150's so it's all subjective! Ear cups are large enough and deep enough for my large ears. Just chunky all round these are. But in a good way. Substantial and well designed.

Sound wise on passive mode they're very good. Slightly thin but very balanced and detailed with a decent amount of bass. But when you switch the amp on......sheesh it's a different beast! Fuller, wider, clearer, more detailed and just all round wow! Headfi Jude said these weren't bass head headphones but there's enough here for me and then some. And that's without switching on the on+ bass boost! Mids are great and the slightly rolled off treble is well articulated. It's a well balanced headphone in amp Mode and if there's a tad too much bass then it can be EQ'd down or just switch it to passive mode. It's very versatile.

So they need charging but everything does these days so I'm just going with it. Unlike my Beats Studio 2.0 (don't hate - read my review on them - they may surprise you) the Mofi's have a passive mode which negates the battery haters!

I won't be using them for portable but they're just about doable! I use them for at home listening as I can't use open backs and in amp mode they sound as good as many other headphones that I've been running through my Fiio E12A Amplifier so that's one less thing I have to carry about!

So a bit more padding on the headband wouldn't go a miss but these really are a revelation.

Hope some of this helps.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Mo-Fi: Revolution-Evolution

Innovative, original, awesome, fantastic, gorgeous, sensual, lusty... must stop with the adjectives before I lose my mind.
I was still picking up my jaw from the ground where it fell after my recent purchase of the Bluedio UFO h'phones (what a wonder!), when I came across this wonder of technique and craftsmanship.
I'm a designaholic (yep, a new word!), you oughta know this and so I got bewitched by the sensual shape of the Mo-Fi first of all, and as soon as I peeped around the web to know more of them my enchantment grew so much that I really HAD to get them, being the 11th pair I own this far.
What the hell, think no man can resist their lure, simply watching the details of their body.
I watched and listened a comparative test on Youtube with the Audiotechnica ATH M70X and, man, the Mo-Fi in active mode sounded exactly like the original track, no difference at all in definition, clarity and soundstage, while the adversary sounded quite muffled in comparison with the source playback, the effect that makes us perceive we got h'phones on instead of getting music from the loudspeakers.
Now at last I have them in my hands, it's a pure lust for the first sight and touch, for all the wonderful design details: the articulated headband (multi-jointed) in three parts with extensible end segments, the adjustable tension of the headband, the rubber cups between headband and earcups, the half-hidden lights for battery status, the giant and soft earpads, the elegant finishes in burnished silver.
Wearing them on is a real amazing show , just the one movement to open the earcups and set them on the ears to automatically have your h'phones in the right position, every head will have at once its own, there are no bigwigs that can resist them, do not need any adjustment apart the headband's tension adjustment to have an even greater comfort for prolonged use.
Not to talk of the heavenly sensations springing from the comfortable earpads once you switch them on, giving "a new skin for the old ceremony" (a li'l tribute to Leonard Cohen...) of listening my favorite music pieces, really, new shades appear in well known listenings, doubling the hot sensation I experienced with the mentioned UFO's when I litterally felt my ears move and tremble inside the earcups due to the 8 drivers performing their powerful strike force.
Here it's rather a matter of an astounding richness in definition and clarity in association with the obvious raise in volume generated by the amp.
And if you set it to "off", the resulting sound will absolutely be a remarkable one, while if you got an excessive attitude, well, turn it on at the "on +" position, your ears will transmit an earthquake to your brain, better watch out.
Wow, breathtaking indeed, all this makes you forgive and forget the sensible weight of the Mo-Fi, nearly the double of similar items, they stay up there around your head with a strong embrace to remind you they're the origin of your listening pleasure and that their mainly metallic structure gives them a reassuring sense of sturdiness, they won't break up even if you mistreat them (horrible sin!, respect such a masterpiece).
If you think the price you pay for all this lust is way too high, then you deserve to stay aligned in the herd of conventional listeners, you're not ready for the R/Evolution.
Just think a while what's the meaning of having no separate amps to couple with your mobile devices or your pc's to have a decent sound from the h'phones you invested in, sure, these ones ain't slim in size, their weight is challenging, but quality has a price, you know.
Me? I'm happy with this price, I feel part of the avantgarde marching towards the future, steady and proud... Ha!-Ha!-Ha! (quoting Ultravox!)
In concluding, if my praise hasn't been enough convincing, just simply take a look around as I did and really think the same awareness I felt will show in you as well:
gotta get them!
C'mon, do it.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Immaculate Quality with a Little Weight

Pros:
- Superb sound stage in both passive and active.
- Great balance of treble, bass and mids.
- Secure fit that is engineered for comfort-ability.

Cons:
- Weight of the built in amp can cause fatigue in lengthy sessions of wearing them (Note the Blue Lola does not have a built in amp).

Coming from gaming headsets, particularly with a virtual 7.1 surround sound push on marketing, I was astounded at the quality this stereo headset provided me within both gaming and film editing. Bought primarily to edit videos on a proper sound stage, these provide excellent in-game sound with an amazing sense of direction. This particular set (Blue Microphone Mo-Fi) has a passive, active and bass enhancing mode due to its built in amp. Although all give excellent clarity although I fail to notice much added bass in the last mode the switch has and the amp adds a lot of weight to the set adding difficulty with long sittings.

For gamers, referencing my time with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege which places emphasis on the use of sound, I often find myself knowing exactly where the enemy is due to footsteps.

For editors, I find the passive stage perfect to edit with, giving a clean and crisp sound, using the active amp to boost the audio once I've edited. This enables me to check all sounds are clear and as they should be before running them through a separate reference monitor for a third check.

Overall I highly recommend them but if you are worried about wearing them for long periods of time, I recommend checking out the Blue Microphone Lola set of headphones, which are exactly the same on sound range but without the active settings. Their lack of built-in amp relieves a significant amount of weight.

3.0 de 5 estrellas Beautiful but Impractical

I've had these for a couple of months now so feel I can provide a reasonably accurate review of this headset.

Undeniably, these FEEL like the price you pay for them. They are weighty and of a sturdy construction, but not so heavy they make your neck tired. It's worth highlighting that I use these exclusively as my PC headphones, and I do not use them for listening to tunes when I am out and about.

As a result, the fact you have to charge these in order to get the full benefit of the drivers makes these a bit of a hassle. When I am playing games, editing footage or listening to music, all of a sudden the sound will cut out and you will have to switch back to the passive setting on them until you plug in the USB cable to charge them. Note these are NOT wireless (as well they shouldn't), so having a charger cable and audio cable hanging out of them when you are trying to use them is not really practical. So make sure you charge them every night.

My biggest issue with these is the selector switch between passive, active hybrid, and full active modes. I wish companies would STOP PUTTING SWITCHES AND DIALS ON THEIR HEADSETS. Maybe I got a dud set, but after a couple of DAYs of using these headsets, the switch started funking up. When I switch to active, one headphone will cut out and you have to jimmy the switch a millimeter back and forth to get it to come through both headphones. I hate wiggly switches and this headset has it. I understand the "audiophile" reasoning behind not having the power and audio on the same lead but in terms of practical everyday use, I don't really rate these.

Also I wear glasses and these things hug your head pretty tight so it starts to get sore after an hour or two. The tension dial on the top lets you vary the strength anywhere between Wood Vice and Ninja Death Grip

Overall a good looking and feeling product but disappointed with impracticality of daily use and POXY FIDDLY SWITCHES!

The first impression by the looks of this device is astonishing, innovative and very premium! Not rubbish at all, even from its price value standpoint. I've listened several music genres and it never let down at all frequencies. Even though, on amp-mode "off" these headphones sounds phenomenal and crystal clear, without mentioning turning the amp-mode "on"! It's like you're at in the middle of the soundstage, while listening music. By my opinion, one of the best headphones on the market right now. Many users complain about the heavyweight issues, but however I do like it somehow. It's every penny worth it and I think I may call this as a worthy statement. Good job Blue!!! 👍

Love these headphones. Rich sound, I could hear instruments in the music I never noticed before. I did not find it too heavy and the pads are deep enough so my ears where away from the speakers. Very beautiful design, solid and well built. I use them in passive mode as one of my studio monitoring cans, and with the iPhone/iPad. I really enjoy listening to music on the Mo-Fi.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Worth the investment.

My teenage son did a lot of research before saving up to invest in these headphones. He finally got them and was over the moon! I got to try them out listening to some jazz and yes, definitely worth the price, (although less expensive would have been great). Clarity and good sound and I like the way they fit on the head and ear. He's currently designing a moulded form oak box to store them in. Yes, he'd better look after them....

Schade eigentlich!
