Un etiquetador lleno de características por un buen precio

Un etiquetador con bastantes tipos de letra, bordes, decoraciones y símbolos. Me gusta el poder usar cintas más anchas (de hasta 18 mm) y de distintos colores. Es muy sencilla de usar y configurar. El poder previsualizar en la pantalla cómo va a lucir la cinta ya impresa es una gran ventaja a comparación de los etiquetadoras más sencillos.

Lo único que no me gusta mucho es que las baterías 6 baterías AAA siempre se agotan muy rápido. No lo compré con el adaptador de corriente, pero sí recomendaría hacerlo.

Un producto muy recomendable por su calidad y precio.

El producto llegó fuera de los empaques o sea las bolsas le puse pilas y cable de luz y con ninguno de los dos trabajo viene rayada en la pantalla y trae un golpe en la parte baja derecha del teclado

L'appareil en lui-même fonctionne très bien, par contre, il vient sans cordon d'alimentation et il demande 6 piles AAA. J'aurais préféré que le cordon d'alimentation soit inclus puisqu'à coup de 6 piles, ça revient cher et que le cordon d'alimentation vendu séparément coûte minimum 16$ plus taxes.

For the price, you get beautiful labels and many choices of typeface and design. The other Brother label printers are much more expensive and it appears from their Amazon reviews that the PDT 600 and the P-Touch Cube are each flawed in their own way.
The big problem with this label maker is that setup for each label is not at all simple, requiring multiple dives into non-intuitive multi-level menus. If you are an impatient person who hates complicated instructions, buy another label-maker.
If you are using this printer for the very first time, set aside a full hour to study all the instructions before you can make your first label. There is a nice (but massive) paper chart of all the choices, I grant you that -- but even if you already have past experience with this printer, it takes a half hour or more of poring over the chart and setting up the formatting and wording for each label. Then, if you are using the same formatting for each of your future labels, you can cut the setup time for each label to maybe 15 minutes.
If you someday somehow lose the huge paper chart, it will be hopeless to find your way around all of the menus and sub-menus and sub-sub menus.
There can be a lot of wasted tape when making individual labels, with large blank areas at both ends. It helps to save tape if you set minimum margins and use the chain printing command.
The machine comes with white tape, but yellow tape is more eye-popping.
In summary, I wish I had spent three times more for the model PTD 600, which appears to be easier to use.

Designed to be wasteful and time consuming

This is a decent label maker, it works consistently and produces quality labels, it is however incredibly wasteful. The printer is designed to produce a 3/4" strip of excess label on either side of the printed text. This is excessive and you end up having to trim it off with scissors, so every label you make wastes over an inch of the label tape and your time. The unit is powered by either 6x AAA batteries or a proprietary power supply. There's plenty of room in this thing for AAs but it uses AAAs and sucks them down. Presumably this is so you'll break down and buy the power supply that costs as much as the device itself. Don't try to source a cheaper power supply though because it probably won't work. The power plug is a standard size but the polarity is inverted. I plugged in my bench supply dialed to the 9v DC specified on the printer and it powered on but displayed an invalid supply message which means there's probably some other form of "protection" going on as well.

I like this label maker (I literally got it today and I used it for a few minutes). My two concerns:
1. There is no adapter - very bizarre. It takes 6 AAA batteries and I know I will get annoyed after a while with that so I guess I have no choice but to buy an adapter (I will look for the cheapest one and it will not be from Brother).
2. The waste of tape - I went through a little bit of tape before I figured out how to minimize tape waste. It would make sense for Brother to just make the machine that automatically minimizes waste but that would actually make sense.

So far, I like it and I will be using it all over the house. I will try to look for cheap tape that will work with the machine as I feel it is unnecessary to spend so much money just for tape. I will also get an adapter so I will not spend money on batteries (or I can just get rechargeable batteries). I know some people did state that the batteries drain while in the machine so I will take them out (I do not have a problem doing that).

I will try to follow up in a few months.

Good Purchase But...

I like to keep things organized so I talked myself into this impulse purchase. I have used several different variations of Brother P-Touch label makers and this one certainly isn't top of the line, however, it gets the job done. The largest size this machine will print is the 12mm tape. This is a good size for most applications but I have found the the 18mm hits the sweetspot with 24mm being a little on the "too big" side. The only plus side to using a labeler that can utilize 18mm or 24mm tape is that the labels are a little easier to read when you are putting them on storage boxes (I used plastic storage totes to store everything so it is nice to be able to glance and see the contents quickly).

I was a bit annoyed that I could not find a plug in power supply that was compatible with this little unit. I think I tried about 6 or 7 different power supplies and gave up after that. Would it kill them just to include that in the package? On the plus side, the batteries seem to last for a good amount of time so I can deal with it for now.

Nice Features; Poor Lighting

This is my second label printer. The first simply died, so I bought another after a few years. I like the product it produces, which is an easy to read label that holds up to the occasional trip through the dishwasher. My only real complaint is that the LCD screen is very hard to see. It was difficult before I lost most of my vision, and now it is impossible, so my husband has to use it for me. Most blind people are not totally blind, but cannot read a lot of product labels. I chose this item because it also prints on iron-on tape, and being a person who sewed a lot, it made great labels. Since losing most of my sight it now provides labels I can read, making things safer for me to use properly. The design choices are more than ample, and give labels a creative edge which I do still enjoy as a personal touch. I made a zipped train case for my first one to store it in along with my collection of tapes which makes it all easy to find and use. It’s still a nice tool. I just wish I could see the screen, but it is very dark. If it were not so, I’d give ease-of-use 5 stars.

Really? In this day and age?

You'll need 6 AAA's or their $10 power adapter. You won't find this out until you open the package, and then search the packaging and not find one.

It's otherwise a fine product. Lose 2 stars for the disappointment of being denied the joy of turning it on straight pout of the box.

It prints nice labels, but if you are considering buying a fancier model so it will "remember" more labels, be advised removing batteries or the AC adapter will blank the memory. Brother makes fairly good equipment, the printing is sharp and clear. Their marketing department must be stupid, though. They decided they would make their money on the label tapes, so they designed it to default to "maximum waste" settings on power-up. Their theory being, the faster the user wastes tape, the sooner he buys more, more money in our pockets. But then they sent the designs to China for cheap manufacture, and of course the Chinese took their design, copied the tape dispensers, and went into competition selling the tape themselves. So, everybody buys the generic tape from Chinese vendors. Brother saves money on assembly by letting the Chinese build it, but don't realize the profits from the tape because they can't undersell the Chinese they're competing with in the label market. So, all that wasted tape becomes plastic in the environment, a waste of money for the consumer, a waste of effort for the Brother employees who hobbled their product to produce maximum waste and annoy their customers with the obvious ploy to screw them, only serving to increase the wealth of Chinese crooks Brother hired to steal their designs and undermine their sales.

Brother, following the crooked wisdom of their marketing and sales staff, made their customers badmouth them for an intentionally wasteful design, inspired crooks to rip off their designs and undercut their market, and released a lot of unnecessary bits of plastic label scrap into the environment. They totally earn a bad reputation for a company that has typically had a decent reputation for quality in the past. Yes, it does print a nice label, but in the most evil way possible.
