QC leaves something to be desired. one or two of the items aren't usable but, the rest seem fine.
whoever complains about soldering to these, saying they melt too quickly, needs to learn to solder. I've had no issues when using proper amounts of heat for a reasonable amount of time. I've used these for both Hi-Z (instrument) and speaker-level connections without issue.
they're cheap, they feel cheap, the only metal part is the solder lug but, they do the job. Time will tell how long that locking mechanism lasts...
This works great for installing in wood. I cut the hole for minimun size and use a file to adjust the orientation. Because of the design, the fit was so tight I didnt really need screws. Of course I had to test them out: I love that these stay electricly connected, Even when I pulled. The connectors with holes makes them easy to solder, you can even use spade connectors. And they come with screws!!! I'm just about to order more to replace he jack's on my other speakers.
Metal shell which looks good, but the latch/release arm is plastic and hard to press and feels very rough. Not really the quality I was looking for. I will not use these in my rack, just ok to through in your parts drawer just in case.
I custom wire pedalboards and professional stages. Have many years in the audio games and these jacks straight up don’t cut it. The connectors melt when you are trying to solder which creates such a weak connection that is susceptible to 120hz hum as well as many other power related noises. DO NOT BUY THESE JACKS - spend your money on something quality from neutrik or switch craft these are basically trash.
Light Duty to say the least! If you're needing a headphone jack or something very light duty, say a 24 gauge wire, this should work. If you're needing something for a Passive speaker with a 12 or 14 ga wire, keep looking.
