First, I need to say that the seller did everything they were supposed to do. Quick shipping and everything as advertised. With that said, The speakers are not the sound quality I expected from Klipsch. They are not horrible, but they do lack in upper mid, and lower hi frequency reproduction. The little 8" powered subwoofer is amazing, though! I replaced a set of JBL Northridge III's because my wife felt they took up too much space in the living room. (I know...what a wimp, huh.), so it's a somewhat unfair comparison. However the sound was MUCH better than these. I don't think the average person would notice so much, but I used to work in a studio and spent a few years on the road as a sound engineer for a band....so I listen carefully! Bottom line.......not bad, but not what I expected!
Audio quality is good (not great) and gave it 3 stars because the bass is lacking big time. The sub sounds distorted when turned up. If you like bass this will disappoint. If not then this product will please you.
I built my first hi-fi audio system from a kit in 1962. I added speakers from Allied Radio to my pre-amp, power amp, fm tuner and record turntable. Following, I improved in segments to where I have a nice 7.2 system with 75 inch 4K TV upstairs. Have reached the stage where it's difficult to go up stairs, so I have set up a smaller system in the living room downstairs. This set of speakers is almost perfect for that purpose. Speakers are small enough to be unobtrusive, and they exude quality sound. If there is anything I would like to improve, it's the bass response. The room opens to a dining area and a kitchen and the 8 inch, 50 watt sub woofer needs some help. I may later add a more powerful Klipsch sub to the system. Then I would be giving a 5+ rating. You just can't go wrong with this Black Reference Theater Pack. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I've had these for about a month. So far so good. Using a Denon AVR-S640H 5.2 channel receiver. Very clear and transparent sound. I still haven't "dialed" in the perfect sound, but that just involves tinkering with the receiver. Gave it 4 stars only due to the fact that even though I waited for the price to go down on these, they are normally a bit expensive. Sound great with movies and music.
I think the satellite speakers are great. I have been using for 6 months. The sub is not the greatest. I would recommend getting a better sub, I didn't realize the difference until I got an emotiva 12 in 250 watte powered sub. If you like movie's it a night and day difference. The center channel is ok. But I had to go into my settings and crank it up to hear dialogue. I added a couple Klipsch 100$ front speakers and good to go. I watch lots of Dolby Atmos movie's and have 5.2.4 now and sounds great for less than 1 k. I would recommend this but throw sub out and invest in good sub. But is a good starter set-up for low cost or if you're just getting into home audio or small area. I'm running on onyko 797 which I think is maybe 70 to 80 rms. Per channel. I am going to try sone with marantz 8015 to see what sounds like with more power.
I am not an audiophile, so take this review with a grain of salt. The bass sound is impressive, and we had to dial it back for comfortable listening. But the main speakers seemed a bit weak. We have a powerful receiver, and we have to use at least 50% power even for normal listening. For immersive/powerful sound we have to crank it past 70%. That said, the sound quality is good or even great, I just worry that I'm pushing the equipment too hard.
Big sound for a small system. I wish the subwoofer was a little larger but it still works great. We're big movie fans and this goes great to complement our 75" TV to create an at home theater vibe. With 16ft vaulted ceilings in the room, the sound fills the space well and puts you right into the movie.
The product is great. Look good and most importantly sounds great. The center speaker was defective. I contacted the seller and had a replacement within a week. Great communication and great customer service
