When I received these couplers I tried to hook one between two HDMI cables to increase the length of my cable. When I hooked the cable up to my TV it would not work. After backtracking to my cable box, I found no problems, so I checked the coupler and I found that the couplers were crossover connector. Be careful when ordering these. I called Amazon and spoke to a lady in the USA and she will issue a return, and research other connectors and get back to me. I hope this will help someone save some time later. I will post an update when I get connectors that work. Bob
Some would think that if you pay for six (6) while you only need two (2) then it is OK for other four (4) to be defective. I will give two (2) starts for those that work out of the whole package. And then substract one (1) more for single HDMI input that quit working on me while I was tinkering with this coupler. Henceforth 6-4-1 = 1
Items arrived defective. None of the 6 couplers would work. My 4k Vizio LCD TV said no connection. They sort of worked on my 1080p projector, but there was so much video noise it was a horrible picture. I even tried different cables to no avail. Don't waste your time or money on these.
I was shopping for other computer stuff, and saw these. Thought "that's a great price, they get good reviews, and they look like they'll come in handy some day. I'll shove one into my connector box at work, another into the twin box in my home office, one in my computer bag, and the rest go in the home lab. They'll prolly come in handy for something, some day.
Wasn't expecting some day to be yesterday. But I got a 25 foot, high performance HDMI cable to go from TV to phone cradle (long story). That cable is the missing link between a "sane" 6ft cable and a garden hose. It's stiff, it's heavy, and it yanked my phone cradle right off the end table.
So, a 3.3 ft flexible HDMI cable and one of these a couplers and the garden hose stays on the floor. My phone is happy.
this was overall a good product. the packaging was good and as far as i know, none of the parts have been damaged.
i used this to connect a monitor to my laptop. my laptop uses display port, the monitor uses vga and dvi-d. this means that i needed to adapt many things. i started with a display port to hdmi adapter cable (male to male). the next thing i did was a dvi-d to hdmi adapter cable (male to male). unfortunately, you can't connect male to male cables. i figured an hdmi female to female coupler would do the trick, so i ordered this. it worked very well until recently.
now here's the issue. i had the two cables that were coupled together under my desk, and the wires were just hanging around loose. i was kicking my legs around while watching youtube, and i kicked the cables and the coupler. the monitor blanked out for a second, displayed a no signal error message, and then returned to displaying my video again. the bad thing was there were many green pixels on my screen that resembled dead pixels.
if you ever experience this issue, then just unplug and plug back in both sides of the connectors. that worked for me.
Bought some 15' HDMI cables to run through my wall up to wall mounted TV and they were just barely long enough to connect to TV and poke out the wall near the media console. Rather than buying 25' cables at twice the price of the 15's I found this product and was able to repurpose some old HDMI cables I had laying around.
They fit on super snug and have never had an issue with coming detached. Picture quality is the same as if you were using one solid cable. Great product.
I picked this up to extend the HDMI of my HTC Vive, along with long power and USB3 cables. I ran a long HDMI cable between the link box and the headset's own cables and used one of these to join them together despite most people recommending extending the cables between the computer and the link box. It works very well, no problems, and allows me to leave the link box safely tucked away near the computer.
Headline says it all. None of these would work with my 4k Firestick. I bought these so I didn't have to fight putting the Firestick behind the tv I could just run an hdmi cable out and connect it there. Well so much for that idea, I order 2 of the Amazon Basics and they worked perfect.
I dropped my cable TV and phone. The cable company forced me to a faster router. This forced me to reset every single Internet device. 5 Chromecast dongles were plugged into the back of things. Access is needed to reset. So I took everything apart and added spare Hdmi cables. I used these female female adapters to connect to the dongles. When connecting the cable and the chromecasts there is a satisfying "Click". Cables are securely locked together. Every adapter worked. What a deal. Oh, and I'm saving about a $100 a month.
Underestimated the length needed to run hdmi through wall and still reach devices so got theses to get the few extra feet I needed using other cables I had. Works fine for most of my older consoles but will not work with the PS4 or Xbox. Tv detects when they turn on and are in use but no image is showing up. Guessing this has something to do with newer tech video signal or something dunno but if fire sticks aren’t working on it I’ll lean on that theory. Using half of them so not returning let’s see how long they last.
