Wasn't too worried about the reviews saying it's incorrectly wired as I'm cutting the terminals off anyway, however after checking continuity with a multimeter the covered pin is positive and the exposed pin is negative. That's exactly as it should be for the battery end of an SAE cable, otherwise touching the frame with the exposed pin would be more exciting than is desirable.
The accessory lead plugged in to this should be wired the opposite way so the exposed pin is taking the positive feed. Don't know if that's where the confusion has come from but the cables I was sent were both exactly as they should be and did the job just fine.
Not driving much during the pandemic and new work lifestyle, which is hard on our one older vehicle. I had been putting a battery tender on it, but it's a pain to keep the hood open and deal with the battery clamps. With these, we could leave them permanently installed on the batteries of each vehicle and then simply pop the hood (or feed out a front grill and zip tie) to install the battery tender, closing the hood down again (but not latching) once the cable is inserted. Nicer to leave the tender running in the driveway without the fear of someone jacking something from under my hood.
It's nice and long - perfect for hiding it beneath the seat. The positive side has a bulky connector that makes it difficult to fit under the red plastic battery post cover. It's not impossible to fit but since I often ride in wet conditions, I spent some time making it fit tightly. It seems sturdy and of excellent quality.
What I needed it for: Make a semi-permanent connection to my quad battery and have the SAE end easily accessible to plug in my Battery Tender. This works perfectly. You will need to unscrew the bolts to your battery and feed them through and then screw your battery bolts back in. One thing to keep in mind - the battery bolts that come with the quad batteries are not that long (not related to this product). If you have more than one other direct connection to your battery, you may want to get longer battery bolts.
Hookup to the Battery Tender: Worked perfectly. Easy to slide in and out. The end of the SAE connector also has a cap on it to protect it from the elements. I plugged my battery tender in and it lit right up and started charging the battery.
Pretty good product for the money. Comes with two sets that are identical in length. The fuse for these are also supplied.
This item works great with my Battery Tender. When I sold my previous bike I left the original B T cable on the bike because of the way I had it routed it wasn't worth the trouble. I bought this item as a replacement and it's a perfect fit/replacement for the old one. Great price and fast shipping (pre Covid purchase) from this seller through Amazon.ca
With the Pandemic and it being winter, I needed a way to protect the batteries of my Jeep and Pontiac G8 as they sit in out driveway. These quick connect/disconnects allow me to quickly plug in and quickly remove my battery tender chargers. Attached to battery terminals via the tightening bolts for the battery leads.
They are super simple to install and the tail simply hangs in an inconspicuous area where you need to plug into. Quality is on par with other brand names. It's difficult to write in in depth review of something that doesn't require one. They just fit and work as intended.
used these for the "toys" that are garaged during winter. I hooked them to the battery and had the connector in an accessible location to plug in the trickle chargers. would recommend to those that need to lift back seats on older cars or seats on motorcycles to reach the battery
