I like the coat and the design. The coat fits very well except in the arm holes. It's fine if you don't do anything that requires a lot of movement. Maybe they forgot to take into account that one would be wearing sweaters or heavier clothes under it.
A person can never have too many warm jackets, IMO, so I ordered this to add to my wardrobe. Fortunately, it arrived just as the cold weather here in SoCal took hold. (Yes, we do have cold weather. It snowed in the local mountains a few days ago, and there were frost warnings inland, and farmers lost crops.)
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. It's warm, though not oppressively so (which can happen in Southern California), and well made. Just don't make the mistake I did and try to wear it over a bulky sweater because then it was really too small, especially in the arms and bust (and I'm not especially busty). It's best if you wear it over something more form fitting, like a lightweight knit top.
I did notice what some of the other reviewers did as far as the sleeves being tighter than I'd like, especially in my upper arms. It won't be a problem as long as I don't wear an Aran sweater underneath, lol.
Now about that collar. ..I thought it looked kind of funky in the photo, but it's not bad at all in person and even kind of cute. I do think they missed an opportunity for it to become a hood, which would be more useful, frankly. If you want to keep your head warm, plan on wearing a hat.
Fortunately, where I live, that's not often an issue, so I'm very happy to have this jacket.
This puffy jacket is warm and comfortable. The collar, though a bit unusual in style, does a great job as a substitute for a scarf in keeping your neck warm. The only downside to the collar, is the silly ribbon used to tie it closed. A snap or other clasp would be a better idea.
The material is smooth, and looks like it will hold up well. The filling has good loft for heat retention, but does not hold up well to a washing machine. As an experiment, I tried it on a regular cycle (despite the tag's warning for gentle cycle only). All of the loft compacted to the bottom of the jacket, and I couldn't re-fluff it. This is not the jacket's fault, since I intentionally ignored the warning (destroying stuff so that you don't have to is part of this gig), but I think I would recommend dry-clean or spot-washing only.
Overall, this is a good value for a warm coat, if you like the look and don't mind the silly ribbon. I've deducted one star because I'm not fully confident of the coat's long-term durability, and they could have done a much better job with the collar fastener.
This is a stylish and comfortable jacket.. My daughter wears it and it keeps her warm and cozy. The material on the outside feels thin, but inside it stays warm. I would not put this in the regular wash.
