Este Jamo s808 es mucho mejor de lo que puede parecer.
La calidad de construcción es bastante buena, bonito diseño que es más fácil de ubicar que otros subwoofers además de verse muy bonito.
Suficiente potencia y fidelidad, no hagan caso de los reviews que dicen que no da suficientes bajos, en mi caso, con el volumen al 50% hace vibrar hasta las ventanas de mi cocina a pesar de estar a más de 6 metros de donde se ubica el subwoofer. Con una buena configuración en tu receptor con un corte de bajos entre 70 y 90 hz queda Perfecto.

La calidad de materiales es buena y adecuada para el precio. El sonido es bastante alto una vez lo ajustas, no es de los que te golpean pero suena bastante bien con películas.

If the item is shipped with its own packaging, the item may get damaged. The packaging was not enough to protect the subwoofer perfectly. The Styrofoam that protects the item cracked upon arrival. The item I received has a nick on the top corner. Luckily, it's not very visible and it didn't affect its functionality.

I am using it as a sub for my desktop computer. Works great. I have the sub volume at ~60% which is sufficient enough to add punch and bass in my room. If I have to nitpick, one thing I don't like is the auto sleep mode function. Sometimes it goes to sleep when I have my computer volume level really low. Other that that I'm happy.

This is a gorgeous sub, and my friend's sounds great; at 8", it doesn't push a huge amount of air and won't handle extreme lows but it completes a home theatre setup nicely and adds a nice whooshy thump to music. Price is very fair for the build quality, design and sound if you can get one undamaged.

The packaging is thin cardboard and the corners are protected with a brittle XPS that is far too thin and weak; there is no face protection other than the thin cardboard and a plastic bag for any side, including the grille, which had 3 of its 4 attachment pins sheared off. It also returns without a prepaid sticker, so I've had to PREPAY over 70 bucks to send the thing back, which Amazon says will require their review to decide whether or not they refund. That's unacceptable and anything but a Prime experience. I'd love to order another but with this packaging, the item's weight and so many others sharing the same experience there is very little chance of it arriving undamaged. I'll have to choose another brand that I can find stocked at a retailer or look for a Jamo 808 or larger from a supplier that can offer the purchase protection I was under the impression that Prime would provide.
It's irresponsible of a supplier to ship this item in its retail shelf packaging.

Product came damaged, attached image clearly shows sent on the edge. The product works fine but bummed it has come damaged and quite noticeable. I would have sent it in for a refund but it took forever to arrive. Did a few tests and works fine otherwise. My friend bought the same product from STC and same problem with noticeable cosmetic damage on the product. The styrofoam inside was damaged as well. Payed for customs as well.

Excellent addition to my computer audio setup!

I paired this sub with Audioengine A2+ speakers using the Dynasty Proaudio wireless kit. I opted for this sub due it’s slimmer profile and the fact that the appearance/aesthetic of the unit matched by desk theme perfectly (white enclosure, grey grill cover and a touch of light wood). The unit is very well constructed. Connection and controls are very simple.

As for sound quality - I give this sub a 10/10. Of course, you have to keep in mind what the intended purpose is going to be. I listen to a range of music genres: Classic rock, 80’s, classical, electronic, hip hop, etc. The sub adds more than enough punch for everything I’ve played through it. Once dialed in, the bass is tight. For me, it completes the audio needs for gaming, audio editing, listening to music, movies, etc.

I would definitely recommend this sub!

Update 2: the replacement amp diedin the se way as the first and Klipsch customer service hasn't responded to my messages from 6 weeks ago. Clearly these little plate amplifiers just aren't very durable.

Edit: klipsch customer support mailed me a new amp/control assembly and everything is working again. The support process was a bit weird; they didn't tell me what they were sending and I was a bit surprised to find a bare amp and all of its boards and wiring harnesses just bubble wrapped in an unmarked cardboard box. I was comfortable doing the swap, but I could imagine this being intimidating for others. Overall, I'm happy to have the sub back and it truly does sound nice, especially for the size and price.

Did exactly what I wanted and sounded great...for 6 months. Now it appears the amplifier is dead. Turns on, detects sound in "auto" mode, but doesn't produce any sound. Tested with multiple sources.

Poor Quality Control

I am compelled to write this review after returning my second unit. On my first, the toggle switch between on/off/auto failed after just a few flips. It became locked in the "down" position and would not flip back up. It also stopped functioning at that point. If you buy one of these, I would recommend checking quality-checking the assembly work and switch functionality by flipping each switch until you are satisfied they are working properly.

My second unit passed my above-recommended test, but upon further listening exhibited quiet but noticeable clicks/ticks when powered on. Maybe thermal expansion of a component, maybe something else. It also had a low sound - something between a whistle and a hum - when powered on and not connected to anything. It wasn't a dirty power 60 hz hum, nor was it feedback from an audio cable (I tried turning it on with nothing plugged in).

Finally, as a visible demonstration of the quality control issues, take a gander at the finish of the surface shown on my picture. This was straight out of the box.

Audio-wise... if this unit had simply performed adequately, I would have reviewed this as fine for music and bass notes, but probably inadequate for deep LFE in movies. If you're looking for something that will fit behind a couch or out-of-the-way instead of this, check out The Wirecutter's article called "The Best Budget Subwoofer." I'll be going with one of those instead.

Great bass response for an 8 inch speaker. The down side is the controls and connections are at the bottom of the box. I have mine on the side so there is better access to the controls and still sounds great. The supplied cables could have been longer for better distance from the amp. I bought some extension cables to increase the distance and that worked fine.

Arrived scuffed. The vinyl wrap looks pretty easily damaged. Sound was ok for a baby sub. Form factor excellent if that is your limitation. Pretty good for music, not so good for theater, but better than nothing. I just made room for a larger one. Suggest speed sub when they are in stock is soooo much better at music and theater. Twice the price, but a sub is something that will/should last 30 years. Just spend the extra, imho. Catch it at fire sale prices and if you only have tiny space…yeah, this Jamo one works for that just fine.
