My goal was to use Foamboard Accoustic Panels to soundproof my apartment. It seems these are highly recommended for that purpose. The panels I was using are 12 inch x 12 inch. They are very lightweight. The Double Sided Foam Tape stayed stuck to the walls but the panels kept falling off. I put the panels up again and held them there for several minutes and they fell off again within a few hours. I would not recommend these for Foamboard Panels. Waste of money.
I bought this to use for acoustic panels. Big mistake. Apparently, the foam acoustic panels themselves, while nearly weightless, are made of a material that doesn't bond well to certain adhesives. Not the fault of this double-sided tape, as that was just lack of research on my part. However, this was recommended to me based on the "frequently bought together" function. Says more about the reliability of these recommendations than it does about this tape. When used to hang something like a mirror for example, this adhesive tape held nicely.
Bought a bunch of these to stick acoustic foam panels to my walls. As it stands, at least 75% of the panels have fallen, shifted or about to fall. It simply does not stick well to them, no matter how many you use. On the other hand, be ready to replaster your walls if you remove them. Of the 8 I've removed, 7 took the paint and drywall paper and some drywall with them.
These were purchased to adhere foam sound-cancelling panels to a ceiling due to The Upstairs Neighbor from Hell. The panels did not stick to the foam, they all ended up on the floor, and the little double sided tiles ripped the paint off the ceiling all the way down to the drywall when I took them off. If you are purchasing them for this purpose, I don't advise it.
I bought rhem with some sound proofing because it said frequently bought together. Well they don't work for the soundproofing it just keeps falling off and when trying yo take off the sticky pads it takes off the paint with it.
I bought foam sound pads to hang in my studio, and these were recommended to go with the foam pads to hang them up. they wouldn't hold onto the pads, and they kept falling down. very annoying. granted, these would probably work better with different material
So its weird rating these. They are generally a good product but as many others have said, if you plan to use these for sound proofing foam DO NOT USE THIS. I bought two sets and its been a total waste of time and money. Get double sided tape. That worked for me first try. Been up for weeks and still holding strong while the these had the squares falling off within day or two.
Good for general use. Just dont use them with sound proofing foam
