This game is a gem. The story is solid: it is loosely based on Thai mythology, but has a mixture of modern and ancient aesthetics (sort of like steam punk, but much better). Additionally, the character designs are very well done, with each person who joins your quest having a unique and fully developed personality. The game play itself is very fast paced during battles with a pretty easy to pickup battle system. Outside of battles, the game is a platformer with plenty of secret areas that are hard to get to. Further, the game branches out with different cities to explore after the initial first 4 levels/areas. Lastly, the artwork is wonderful. It has an anime styling, but doesn't beat you over the head with it. Additionally, the characters are fairly well balanced: Girls are not just waifus and boys aren't split between hulking muscle types or tiny bishy things (one or two characters will fit this stereo type, but not all). The characters have a multitude of styles, all of which bring a unique charm to the game. The voice overs are also well done: Some of my favorite dialogue comes at the end of battles where a character will make a silly or funny quibble about the fight.
Overall, this game has been a fun experience: difficult at times, but easy enough to pick up. I highly recommend it.
