Delusione totale. Avevo il modello vecchio (rsb 14) ed andava alla grande. Questa potrebbe essere ottima per ascolto musica (ovviamente non è un Hi-Fi) ma per i film è un disastro. Tutto confuso e dialoghi non percepibili, la funzione “dialogo” migliora le cose ma ancora non si può paragonare alle altre bar di pari categoria. Anche il segnale di ingresso è deludente, nei film, alzando al massimo il volume la potenza non esiste... Il discorso cambia con la musica dove esprime tutta la qualità klipsh. Il sub woofer è, oltre che brutto da vedersi, costruito male e non suona un granché, a differenza di quelli dei modelli precedenti che era piccolo, bello e potentissimo....
Update 3/26/2021; after almost 4 months, Klipsch finally made good. They sent me a brand new Cinema 600 set as a warranty replacement. The sub is about twice the size of the the original. Haven't set it up yet but I won't be using it in the family room. Already have the solution there. I won't be upping the Rating considering all the trouble. I really hope Klipsch gets their act together. Their history is great Americana, they could do so much better.
UPDATE 2/1/2021; Review downgraded to lowest possible, like many things in 2020, the Bar 48 let me down exactly one year after buying the thing its DEAD. No lights no sound. I contacted Klipsch and got the usual run around saying how darn busy they are. Sent a response to the run-around two weeks later, got another "we are soooo busy" response. Sent yet another response last week, still nothing from Klipsch. So between the Bar 48 and the surround speakers I spent >$600 and the thing only lasted a year. And what's worse is it NEVER really sounded as good as it should have. So I broke out an 5 year old Onkyo sound processor and bought three small Polk speakers (center + L and R) and pulled a Polk 8" sub out of the closet. That rig sounds hugely better without surround sound. Bass is awesome and dialog is clear. My original review is below, do yourself a favor stay WELL away from this product.
I had very high hopes for this device, but in setting it up there were a lot of problems. Hoping to resolve those problems by downloading new firmware was a huge mistake. Especially since I did not observe the serial number limitation on the available firmware. After bricking the thing, a detailed email to customer service went unanswered for a couple of weeks. Then I got one that said we're sorry we've been busy we're going to get back to you. After another week, I attempted to install a firmware for the fourth or fifth time. As it turns out there was a new version of the firmware which actually did install correctly the first time and resolved all the problems of the Bar 48 and it's bluetooth subwoofer. I have another review of the Surround 3 speakers that are specific to this configuration. For the amount of money I paid for this system, I probably should have used some sort of Bluetooth transmitter or other wireless device with the regular set of speakers and a regular amplifier for the TV sound. While it's very sleek and seems high-tech it's just not the level of performance I had expected from Klipsch.
Edit; I considered upping the stars on this review as the sound quality borders on very good now that the correct firmware is in place. But I have decided to leave it as is considering the difficult setup and the delay in resolving my problem with said setup. This is not a particularly new device so it baffles me that a consumer could follow all instructions and yet have so much difficulty in getting a working system. The support website should absolutely refuse to allow a person to download firmware that is not serial number appropriate. That was the crux of this matter. A firmware update was available that messed up devices newer than a certain serial number. Without a proper gate keeper on the website then device itself should refuse to load firmware that is not compatible. Thankfully the device did not stop functioning alltogether and once the proper firmware was installed the device functions normally.
Great soundbar, the dedicated center channel really makes a difference when it comes to dialogue with loud background music/noise. Also helps with the “surround” effect, very easy to discern that there are 3 channels. Sound is great for the price, it has like 9 speakers in an all wood enclosure so it sounds much better than the usual all plastic ones that you find in price area. Keep in mind that soundbars aren’t true 5.x/7.x speakers and should not be expected to sound as good as they do. This one manages to bounce sound around and expands the sound stage to a good 3/4 way to your ears. Adding the wireless speakers, when available, and id imagine this would make a great 5.1 surround system.
The included remote is a nice touch. Does what you think it does, but has a soft rubber feel which makes it feel more substantial. Also, the remote has a vibration sensor in it, so when you pick it up, the back lit buttons light up (put it on a desk, bang on it, and it will turn on) which are just the right amount of brightness. I wish I could use this one as my primary remote.
I bought this at a reduced price because it was an open box item. Sellers website said the box was damaged. Item was in new condition. It was. Everything was unopened the box just had a corner torn out of it. Everything in the box was in it's original packing and brand new. I was very happy. Thought I got a great buy, until.... :( I had issues with the subwoofer losing it's bluetooth connection to the bar. Did some research and this is a known issue with these. Support pages and forums say to do a firmware update which made it worse and if that fails exchange it. It's only a couple weeks old so I went through my Amazon Prime orders page to initiate an exchange. That transferred me to the sellers website (innovation 2024) where the only thing offered was a refund. Contacted Klipsch support where I was informed the seller was not an authorized Klipsch retailer, the item was used, there was no warranty, and I would need to deal with the original seller or Amazon. So watch out for open boxes. Mine was brand new nothing had ever been opened. Even the batteries for the remote were in the original packaging. Klipsch still considers it used. Amazon says see the seller and the seller won't do an exchange, only a refund. So after wasting a boatload of time going through refunds and returns and trips to the UPS store I'm still going to have to pay full price. I will never again buy anything from Amazon that doesn't say sold by Amazon shipped by Amazon.
I am on my second set of the Surround three speakers to go with the sound bar 48. Have had the same problem with both. They are too quiet and the right rear channel makes a loud popping noise after an hour or so use. I've upgraded the firmware on the Soundbar 48 and they got a little louder but the loudest noise out of them is still the popping. Volume up volume down doesn't matter they pop. Soundbar volume up or down. Same pop. Bass volume up or down same noise. I guess I could request another set but I emailed Klipsch tech support and we'll see what they say. I had problems with the Soundbar when I got it and had to exchange but not until I got a replacement from the factory did it work right. There was a range of serial numbers they had that were bad. I've seen some questions on these that a replacement set fixed the problem so I'm hoping there is a range of serial numbers affected and they can send me something that is not afflicted with this popping. Other wise I'll look for a refund and give up on having a rear channel.
I kept trying. They finally agreed to replace the soundbar for the 3rd time and the rear Surround 3 speakers for the 4th. I've been patient. I've tried a dozen different suggestions. Moving things around rerouting wiring plugging things in to different outlets. I even bought a $400 APC electricity cleaner. So they said we're going to send you a Cinema 600 Soundbar which has fewer issues. I asked them why they weren't replacing everything with a 7.1 so they would all pair straight out of the box. They said it wasn't necessary the speakers aren't the problem. To be sure I asked if the new stuff would need firmware upgrades. They said no. Their firmware upgrades do not seem to go the way they think they do. Well I got the 600. It would not pair to the back speakers and was 2 firmware editions behind. This one the subwoofer has firmware update too. It says do the bar first. It locked up. I waited an hour. It wouldn't respond to any commands from the buttons or the remote so I unplugged it. Now neither it or the subwoofer will turn on. So I boxed everything back up put the Bar 48 back. Well I don't have to worry about the loud popping anymore because now they won't pair either. I'm guessing you can only pull the blue tooth dongle out and put it back in so many times before it fails.
So it's been a year trying to get a working sound bar a subwoofer that pairs and stays paired and rear surround speakers that pair and don't make sounds like there was someone with a 22 automatic firing it in your ear. This is really hard for me. I'm an old loyal Klipsch customer. I have 2 Lascalla Corner horns. The big giant wood ones. They cost over $5000 a piece and this was. 30 years ago. I have a 7.1 Surround sound system I bought from them that were also well over a thousand dollars. I've bought their earbuds and given them as gifts for anyone I think has a good ear for music. Over the 30 years I've owned my Corner Horns I've given hundreds of referrals and positive reviews. No more.
The worst thing about it is their customer service. It is Monday through Friday with a very small window in the evenings. So today is the third time I've taken off work to get some help. Using their email system takes sometimes a week for a response. I called Saturday and was reminded only weekend hours. So I took off to call today. They're closed for systems upgrades and training. No mention of that on their phone message Saturday. I'll be honest. They just don't care. I was a long and loyal customer and thats done. This is a horrible product with lousy support and I recommend you don't buy any of their wireless systems. They don't sound good are expensive and if you need support prepare to take a day off work. Sorry this is just too much bad and not enough good.
Maybe I hyped this up in my head, as having owned an R10B and R20B I truly expected more from this bar. I really wanted ARC functionality is the only reason I ‘upgraded’. The bass cutoff frequency is too low for the bar’s midrange leading to mechanical clipping very, very easily. I ultimately returned mine due to the center channel dying out. I love Klipsch, and have owned a lot of their products in the past, but this product really let me down.
I bought the surround speakers for the rear channel to be paired with the center and base. This did not go well. I had to download new driivers to the center to get my rears to work. Why you would have to download new drivers to a new speaker system is kind of amateur. Klipsch makes awesome speakers, obviously, they are not much in the electronic hardware space.
Then I could not get the base to work properly. I cannot control the volume on the base and it is soo very loud compared to the other speakers. I use the separate volume control for the base and turned it all the way down, but still cannot get the base adjusted with the other three speakers. I have looked all over for support on how to fix this but cannot find anything.
Klipsch should probably just stick with making good speakers.
