I really wanted to like this shirt. The burgundy and white gingham fabric is 100% cotton and a great weight - lightweight but not see through, cool but not flimsy, exactly what I was looking for, and the price is right. Unfortunately the cut is so strange and uncomfortable, there's nothing to do but return the shirt. The front of the shirt is too tight - it restricts arm movement, and pulls across the chest if buttoned as in the picture. And the back of the shirt is way too big and doesn't drape - it's like you could wear a small backpack under the shirt. Maybe the arm holes are set too far forward on the shirt? From the bottom of the arm hole (which is about mid-breast on me) up, the shirt is very tight in front. From there on down it billows out. I'm tall and wear a 32c and this was my experience with the size medium shirt.
As others have noted, there's something wrong with the pattern. I don't sew enough to know how to describe it, but it's like someone described a human and the tailor had never seen one. I have a hard time finding button-ups that fit, but this isn't the usual too big or too small; it's weird in the arms, and it slides backward, and the collar is out of proportion...I don't even know.
