I purchased two of these 20 foot cables a few days apart. First one has a AC hum when plugged into amp. Even if you unplug the guitar and left the cord plugged into the amp it will still hum. Unplug cord from amp hum stops. The hum is really bad when plugged in to the guitar and there is no input sound from the guitar you can hear it real loud. The second one has a slight hum also but it is no where as bad in fact you can barely hear it and if the first one hum hadn't been so loud and I was looking for the hum in the second one I might not have even noticed it at all. I am returning the loud one and getting the Fender Professional cable. I will up date this if I have any issues with the one I am keeping.
There is no strain relief for the cable on the angled plug. This causes the signal to be shorted out when the cable is twisted with normal use. This has happened to me several times, and I don't see a way to clamp the wire inside the connector to fix this, so my only option is to just tape the cable to the plug housing, which is a crap solution.
So I knew this cable wasn't going to be anything extraordinary. I paid 5 bucks for it because I needed an extra cable to keep constantly plugged into my practice amp, and for all intents and purposes, this does the job. There is definitely something strange about the sound, the straight end of the cable has a bit of a connectivity problem and needs readjusting pretty frequently, and the overall build quality of the cable is not very good.
I recommend it if you need a spare cable for cheap, but I don't recommend it for recording, live performances, pretty much anything other than practice.
