Figured it was time to add a non-sponsored review. I tried this with an alto saxophone clipped on the front of the bell. Really just wanted it to record my practicing and maybe try with an effects pedal. Sound quality was decent, but getting volume out of it was impossible and I was recording directly into a DAW (digital audio workstation) even when volume was set to its high of 11. I have a recording engineer background and could not get a decent volume without post recording manipulation. This also enhances the problem that the mic would pick up every key strike with a very audible thud. I attempted to add additional padding to the mic clip to cushion it and it helped but did not eliminate the thud. Set up was easy so that is a plus. This might be a good option for flute or guitar but can’t recommend for saxophone.
I returned the first one, the unit was defective. Received the second one For us on an alto sax, sound is not bad, it is so sensitive to the point that it picks up every key movement. Not usable on the sax itself, to much clattering coming out. I will attach it to the music stand, that will pick up the sax tone only. But you do lose ability to move around.
I recently purchased this microphone but it does not work at all. The transmitter with the microphone is supposed to establish a Bluetooth connection with the receiver, but the blue light on the receiver never stops flashing to indicate successful pairing (as indicated in the instructions). I am not sure if the problem is with the Bluetooth alone or the microphone itself is defective. I have also tried it on multiple audio devices (stereo, two computers) and the outcome is the same. Unfortunately the company has not responded to my e-mails to their customer service address, so I will be returning this item right away.
This is a very light wireless microphone. It works perfect, has a good sound quality. Charging time 1-2 hours is good enough to use for several hours. I put 4 stars because it's a bit too sensitive. I play melodica using this mic, and when playing without background music can hear the key knocking. But for live performances, this knocking sound is relatively quit and can be ignored.
