I have had it for a week now. Great product. I just want to address some of the issues written in reviews. I had the same issue with the remote and volume going up-to max. All i did was remove the batteries from the remote and reinstalled them, I have not had the issue again. Also the sound quality depends with the sound presets of your tv.
Great sound for the money. Sound bars aren't really my cup of tea for sound but this was definitely worth the money. Plenty of Connections and very easy to install. Bass is amazingly clear and deep! Couple of things. 1. I would recommend this one specifically for large rooms. Our room is a 14x15 with 10ft ceilings and does well for reference. Any bigger and it won't fill out. 2. Its hard with the remote to tell what mode is on/off unless you become familiar with how it responds in you room. Their is no front facing indicator to tell you whats on or off
*update* 12/25/21. I finally got it mounted on the wall and repositioned the sub. It sounds good despite looking like a previous return. I think the Wireless signal for the sub improved once the bar was on the wall, up higher than the cabinet it was sitting on. I’m giving it a 4 star now, taking one off for looking used.
Everything works so far but I obviously got a used or previously returned unit. The subwoofer has a dinged corner and this can’t happen unless you actually take it out of the packaging. It’s hard to fathom spending this much money for a used item. Next time I’m going to a brick and mortar shop to make larger purchases.
Update: 1/24. What a piece of garbage. Bluetooth goes in and out make the subwoofer unpredictable. LEDs stoped working. I’m not sure how to return it because I tossed the box out. Just don’t buy it
I have been fairly pleased with the sound bar/subwoofer combination in that the sound quality is a lot better than that of the TVs built-in speakers and the cost is reasonable. However there have been a few issues: The first unit I received became unreliable after a few days and then completely failed a few days later. The replacement unit appears to be functioning appropriately. The unit powers down after a period of inactivity, which is fine, but it does not automatically come back on when input resumes and the behavior is not in any way user-configurable. This behavior can complicate setup of some universal remotes. The receptacle for the optical input has a relatively loose connection to the optical cable, making the cable easy to dislodge accidentally. The subwoofer volume can be controlled by the remote but there are no other user-configurable settings related to equalization aside from the preprogrammed listening modes The various settings for the sound bar are either not described or else poorly described and determining which setting has been selected is done by noting the color of various LEDs. That complicates setup somewhat, but since the setup is likely to be a one-time procedure it is not a huge issue from my perspective. Since the issues I noted are mostly inconveniences related to setup I based the overall rating on the sound quality which is pretty good for a product in this price range. Update: It turns out that this sound bar does not 'play nice' with some other components. Two of the HDMI switches I have tried will turn off when I press the Klipsch's volume up on the Klipsch remote.
This soundbar has pretty good sound quality overall, not too much coloration or overly bright highs. However, the subwoofer is crossed over with the soundbar much higher than I expected, so is very easy to localize. This, unfortunately, means the ideal location to place the subwoofer is as close to the soundbar as possible. When the subwoofer is close to the soundbar, the system sounds pretty seamless. When you move the subwoofer to another part of the room (which is likely what most people will do, since it is a wireless unit), it stands out.
On the plus side, for the price you are getting a pretty nice upgrade in sound quality over TV speakers, and it is really good for music listening. The sub is a little muddy, but it digs lower than the subs on many of the more expensive soundbars. If you don't need a ton of fancy features, and can put the sub near the TV, this is a solid choice.
I bought this unit to replace a 10 year old LG soundbar. The LG unit cost roughly the same price but today's systems are much better. I was not interested in a high end surround sound system. I just wanted better sound from my TV and when streaming music. Mission accomplished. The sound quality is great and compared to my old system it is much brighter and much louder. My old LG unit wasn't worth listening to when playing music. Setup was straight forward and easy. I'm using an HDMI ARC port to connect to the TV. I also use the Dialog function for watching TV. It makes dialog audio sound more like it's directed toward you. It has a surround sound feature which doesn't do much. But then I didn't expect it too. Now for some small issues I encountered. And some of the issues might be related to the TV and not the soundbar. It took several attempts to get my Android phone paired via Bluetooth. Not that unusual in my experience. Once paired it works well. When attempting to use the remote to increase the volume instead of increasing the volume it would change the TV input source. Cycling the power took care of that issue. But I learned to set up the TV to use the TV remote to control the volume. When you turn on the TV the system goes through a couple of cycles of the screen going blank and then back on before you have any sound. This only takes a few seconds but it seems unnecessary. When using the soundbar remote to turn the unit off there is a few second delay before it actually turns off. A bit irritating but no big deal. There are delays in every function of the remote. I had to learn to just give it some time. I can't say as I have ever encountered that before. Again, not sure if the issue is with the TV or the soundbar. Not a fan of the way the remote. When pairing the system to the subwoofer you have to hold in the pair button on both the system and the subwoofer. That was a bit confusing in the instructions. However, the rest of the instructions are clear and accurate. I did have some questions so I attempted to contact Klipsch customer service. I called twice and eventually hung up after 30 minutes of being on hold I then contacted them via a form on their website. Have never heard back from them. So I rate their customer service as poor. The upside is the unit sounds terrific, especially for the price. I would buy it again.
The soundbar is excellent and good value for the money. Sound quality is good and what is expected form Klipsch.
The remote for the soundbar does not work when you have a Vizio tv. Every time I try to change the volume on the Klipsch remote it switches the tv to the SmartCast. So when using a source other than the SmartCast it will switch the input from that one to the SmartCast. I tried both optical and hdmi arc connections to fix it but no success.
Tech support for both companies says to there is nothing to fix it but to buy a different brand tv.
I was able to get an Apple TV remote to learn the Klipsch remote as a work around after many tries. It does not work the best as it skips volume settings pretty quick so it will go from 16 to 30 with one or two presses.
Wish Vizio or Klipsch would fix this issue. It would be a 5 star rating save for this issue.
I previously owned a klipsch center and left/right front speaker setup (with no sub, as it wasn’t necessary). I replaced this setup for two main reasons.
I wanted to reduce how much space I was using.
My old setup constantly had me turning the sound up or down based on the scene.
First time booking the klipsch soundbar up was a fail. I spent an hour making sure I didn’t do something wrong. The sub simply wouldn’t work…. Unless it was directly next to the soundbar, and it still had issues staying connected.
The Amazon replacement process was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Honestly it blew me away. I opted to get the replacement first, then return the old one by visiting ups drop off. Very easy and didn’t go without a soundbar.
After plugging in the new soundbar everything worked instantly. The remote seemed to work better too.
The kids came out of their rooms wondering wtf just happened. Oh that’s the subwoofer, lol.
I have mine turned down 2.5 notches and it’s almost perfect for us. We don’t love a lot of bass. I keep dialog turned on and in my roku ie enabled sound leveling. This seems to be the best setting for even sounds and I’m not constantly turning the volume up or down anymore. My wife likes the night mode to turn off the sub completely.
Compared to my old setup… well the sound quality is no where near the same. It’s a bit worse on the mid range. But honestly it nailed my needs exactly, and I’m happy with it. HDMI ARC/CEC works perfectly.
Love the sound quality. Tremendous bass. Very clear sound bar. Quality construction. Terrible remote control. When you push mute button on remote it shuts off power to bar. Have to push volume up button many, many times just to raise volume up a tiny bit. In short, it works great until you have to adjust output, then it is a pain. This is my third sound bar. The other two bars just stopped working, could not be repaired. Is there a bar that just works?
I've been buying $100 soundbars that advertised "Great sounding bass!!" or "Fantastic Surround Sound!!" so I was skeptical about the same ad claims on this one. I was greatly surprised that the Klipsch soundbar EXCEEDED my expectation !! Most cases I'm turning DOWN the bass. This is Movie Theater quality and experience !! Yes I'd buy them again and YES I'll be recommending theses to my friends !! Oh yeah, the surround is awesome as well. ONLY complaint and reason for a 4 star rater than 5 is because a couple of times a day the soundbar stops working for 10 seconds or so. It just quits and starts itself again....
