I purchased this with hopes of convenience and decent sound. Unfortunately, neither were true.
Upon receiving the system, I promptly connected everything as instructed and was immediately given grief from my 2019 LG OLED. It recognized the adapter, then found the speakers but after that - no sound. I then reset everything and tried again. Still no sound. After two or three attempts, I begin to hear random beeping and static, so I believe it’s starting to work. Nope. Fast forward and I’ve downloaded the Axiim app to update the adapter firmware (even though it’s not mentioned anywhere to do this). Well, that didn’t help either. So I used the Axiim app to toggle between Xbox mode and then back to usb audio mode. Bam! That worked. I started to hear things.
Now that I have sound, I put it through a trial of movies and music. The sound is decent, but not amazing. Controlling the volume occasionally worked with the tv remote and occasionally worked with the Axim app. Never was it seamless nor fluid. Adjustments to its audio settings in general are quite clunky.
All in all, I think there’s hope for the WISA stuff to be awesome, but for now, I think it’s too soon - at least in terms of ease of use and sound quality.
That said, in its current state I’m not recommending it. In fact, I’m boxing it up now and returning it then it’s back to the ol’ sound bar. The sound difference between the two are not that different.
The package arrived in great condition. The large box was really heavy. I plugged in all of the speakers according to the diagram listed on the install sheet. I then connected the transmitter to the back of the TV. The TV recognized all of the speakers. All I could get is static or white noise to come out of the speakers and the subwoofer. The subwoofer is massive in size. No actual sound would play through NetFlix, Amazon Prime, or anything else. I tried hooking up the USB cable to the XBOX this did not solve the sound issue either. Apparently the transmitter is supposed to light up blue. There never was any light that turned on on the transmitter. So, I am not sure what actually malfunctioned. It could well be that the transmitter itself is faulty or something. I really do not know. But, for $800 bucks I was bitterly disappointed.
There is an orange sheet of paper that says dont send product back to Amazon. But to call (206)818-9333. No one actually answers the phone. It just says to leave a message and maybe they will get back to you. This is unacceptable. I have called 5-6 times and left a voicemail. Not to mention sending Axiim and Monaco several e-mails a piece. Then I tried talking to Amazon support. Akritii tried to help me but transferred me. Jagadeeswari tried to help me but transferred me. Mariah tried to help me but transferred me. Jan Hamnet could not get this to work either so....... $800 for a piece of quality junk.
Was excited to get this system, but that soon dissipated into disgust and anger. The instructions for this system leave MUCH to be desired. When I finally got settings on TV figured out for CEC/ARC, only front left & right speakers have any sound, and the volume level is so low that it is ridiculous. Tried scrapping the HDMI route, and hooked up the optical cable to try - no sound at all on this setup. I'm not a techno-dunce, but after 2 hours of getting nowhere, I decided it was time to call tech support. Imagine my surprise when I found they do NOT include a number for tech support, but only a web site. Then you have to register, and send them an e-mail requesting support. WTF???? When you pay $1,000 for a surround system, I expect some kind of better support than this. It's been nearly 24 hours, and no response. I guess they do not need my business, and I will probably be sending this worthless piece of crap back, if that's all the better their support is. Pitiful....
I went by the good reviews. I was wrong. I spent hours trying to hook this up. Would finally play but when you turn off your tv you loose the sound. Customer service was nice and responsive. But are zero help. Apparently they have an issue with LG OLED new TVs firmware. Blah blah They shouldn’t advertise that 2020 LG OLED are compatible. They’re not right now. Also their app is terrible. Sending diagnostics is a joke as you get error messages.
I rarely write reviews because most products perform as advertised. I bought a new LG C9 TV and wanted to take advantage of the WISA capability. After a lot of research I bought this system and it was awful. The box came with no directions or manual of any sort but setup is rather easy if you watch a video or two online. Once I got each speaker identified properly the sound was underwhelming at best and would continuously cut out with drops in the audio. Then it would simply not adjust in volume at all when I adjusted high or low and stayed at whatever volume it wanted. I have fiber optic internet with super high speeds and a mesh system so it has nothing to do with wireless or the tv. Unfortunately you get what you pay for and I think WISA is still too new to be perfected. I am returning this and may give the Klipsch system a try but really don’t want to drop $3k on it so may just stick with internal TV speakers for a while! Anyways, buyer beware in this setup, not worth it.
The system it’s self is okay not top quality for the amount you’re paying. My subwoofer stopped working only after a couple of uses and I emailed the company and heard back once and they said they would send me a new subwoofer and they never sent it. Connection to the app is debatable if it’s gonna work or not and that’s how you control the audio settings. If you want to waste your money for a company that doesn’t care about its customers then I would recommend buying this but otherwise I would never buy another system from this company.
