Puedo controlar las apps de mi iPad ya sea Bluetooth o por cable, además de simultáneamente mi whammy vía cable midi. Puedes mandar las 3 señales al mismo tiempo creando escenas, una maravilla. Excelente construcción.

Estoy muy satisfecho con el control, desde que abres la caja se siente que es un producto de calidad.
Incluye un eliminador que tiene un cable de unos 3m, un cable USB tipo B @ tipo A (me gustaría que fuese de unos 2m, el que trae mide 1m).

El único “inconveniente” que veo para mi, es que si estás utilizando el Bluetooth con el teléfono y te sales de la aplicación de configuración de hotone este se desconecta y tienes que volver a conectar.
Lo he utilizado poco tiempo y hasta el momento no tengo ninguna otra queja, pero sí tengo algún problema en el futuro lo compartiré.

I use this controller to switch Neural DSP Archetype presets on a Mac Mini M1.

My first grief with the unit was about connectivity. My Mac flat out refused to recognise it, yet the Neural DSP bluetooth midi actually connected to it immediately. Downloading the app on my Mac was a failure as well, since it's just not meant to work on the computer. Please remember - the app will only work on either android or iOS platform (i.e. your phone or tablet).

Second point -instead of specifying the CC# or PC# they just wrote "Data1" on the app. It was another 30 minutes before I got that.

Third point -I didn't get the hotone press for an expression pedal, opting for an M-audio one instead. It still doesn't work. However, it might be a problem with my midi programming.

Now, the good things -it's light, small, and if you managed to set it right -works perfectly well. Currently I use 2 separate banks to switch 8 presets, and that's like barely 1% of all the the crazy stuff you can do with some ingenuity and deeper dives into midi.

The bottom line -I knew nothing about midi before I got into all this, and none of this is exactly 'noob' friendly. The controller is worth the money and will be a big help, but the wasted half a day on my "crash course" in midi comes down to the lack of proper support by the company and information available online at this point. For that, I'll take off 1 star.

Update 12/2021: Hotone removed their Android app from the Play Store a while ago. You can download the apk from the product website and sideload but that definitely limits its appeal. I find this very disappointing and am curious why it happened. I'm taking off two stars from my original rating.

I was very excited for this controller. It's inexpensive but very versatile since you can access 100 different banks unlike the other sub-$200 controllers I looked at. Each switch can send a mix of up to 16 notes, PCs, or CCs. And it can be powered from my Pedal Power Plus rather than needed a USB supply.

I like the phone app used to program it over Bluetooth but I really wish they'd make a PC app as well. I find using my PC is always faster than the constant scrolling and tapping on my phone. Still, the phone app has a clean design and most everything is well-labelled.

At first I thought there was a horrible lag between pressing a switch and the MIDI event actually happening. Then I discovered that on the “single” switch mode, the event happens when you *release* the footswitch, not when you press it. I found you can set switch mode to “momentary” and then your event will happen on the press. That makes much more sense to me and I wish it were the default.

The only issue I’ve run into is using USB-MIDI with Reaper. The controller appears in Preferences\MIDI Devices and I’ve enabled it but it never appears as a MIDI input option in my track. I’m willing to believe it’s a Reaper issue but I don’t have trouble with four other devices. This isn’t how I intend to use it so it’s ok for me but you may feel differently.

One other little quirk, the Hotone website says any expression pedal you use has to be 10k Ohm or less. My VP Jr. pedal is 25k so I added a 15k resistor across the input jack. This dropped it down to 9.6 and worked perfectly without even having to calibrate the pedal.

Overall, I highly recommend this. It’s pretty cheap but fully-featured and works nicely.

Finding the right MIDI footcontroller is not easy. They can be too big, too expensive, too limited in programmability, too loud... the list goes on. This one gets nearly everything right. The programmability is extensive, the mobile app is *really* well executed - super flexible and super easy to use - the controller itself is compact and well constructed, with nice quiet switches. So far so good.

I was disappointed that the Ampero Control couldn't be run off of a 9V battery. Hotone must have felt that the current draw would have resulted in too short a battery life. 6x AA would have changed the form factor. A rechargeable internal battery would have been ideal IMO, but this would have changed the price point. If you're plugging this into PC/Mac it's USB-powered, so all's well, and if you're running this on a larger board, then 9V DC is easy enough. But if you want to run it as a standalone Bluetooth controller, or run with a single MIDI cable, the need for DC power is... inelegant. (I finally settled on an external 6x AA enclosure.)

4 switches is what it is. I wish there were 8. Obviously, that would make this a different - bigger and more expensive - product. But this one proves that Hotone are *very* good at this sort of thing, so I hope they release a couple of larger variations - an 8 switch with internal rechargeable battery would be ideal.

One last thing that's been a challenge: the Ampero Control lets you plug 2 expression pedals, footswitches, or dual footswitches into ports on the back. These work great and here again the mobile app is very slick in terms of configuration. However, a dual switch can't be programmed to do the one most obvious thing, which is to change banks of settings up and down on the Ampero Control itself. As it stands you have to press switches 1/2 simultaneously for bank down, and 3/4 simultaneously for bank up. This is sensible in terms of reducing footprint, but double footswitch events are unpredictable in actual practice. If you could use individual external switches for the same purpose, it would be a lot easier to organize the functionality of the 4 switches on the Ampero Control itself.

The Ampero Control is an excellent programmable MIDI foot switch that has bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone for very easy programming. I was looking at the Morningstar MC6 or MC8 for use with my Ampero 2 Stomp modeler, but realized that those were 1) very expensive, 2) I would not use more than a fraction of their features (which are frankly amazing), and 3) they required setup through a computer program or the unit itself using its menus on the tiny LCD displays. The Ampero Control has all the features I need for a third or a quarter of the price of those MIDI controllers. I decided this over a simpler controller like the Meloaudio MIDI Commander because of the total programming flexibility of the Ampero and the bluetooth. The killer feature is the bluetooth connectivity that makes it so easy to program on the fly on your phone using an Ampero app, rather than having to connect to a PC or wade through cryptic LCD displays menus. I could buy 2 Ampero Controls to get 8 switches and still have money left over when compared to an MC6. The only substantial downside to the Ampero Control is that it cannot be controlled by an external device via MIDI. This means it cannot automatically change presets based on a preset selected or button pressed on another effects pedal or modeler. Excellent value for such a great product!

In a nutshell, I would equate this to a German car. It's built like a tank, everything about it is logical, and it does exactly what it's supposed to (without the price tag). Metal chasis, solid buttons, LCD display, and all the needed connections (USB, MIDI, Bluetooth). The app is excellent and WORKS. It took all but about 10 minutes to program three of the switches to trigger MIDI note data via bluetooth to an iPad running the Koala Sampler app. I was looking for a way to avoid tearing apart my home studio or buying a laptop and drag it over to my friend's garage just to trigger some samples now and then during a jam. This is the smallest and most intuitive sampler rig I've ever owned. And it will get used in the studio, too, as I'll be able to send MIDI to my DAW (Start/Stop/Rec, punch in/out, bypass effects, etc.). HIGHLY recommended.

Great little unit, but only the 5 pin MIDI connector has an output signal. There is no output to my DAW or computer via the USB connection. The ONLY purpose of the USB cable is to provide power.
The feature allowing MIDI messages to be routed to either the 5 pin MIDI jack, USB MIDI, or BT MIDI doesn't work for me. No matter how it's set in the app, it only sends data to the 5 pin MIDI out port.

In short it's not possible to send messages out of different outputs as it's supposed to do.

Otherwise it's a nice unit if you don't mind plugging the 5 PIN MIDI output into a MIDI interface to get MIDI into your computer or DAW. But it doesn't function as described.

I got this specifically to allow complex switching of amp models and effects running on my iPad Pro 10.5". I use a number of different Nembrini amp models, and set up one button to switch between settings (low/high gain), between amp models, adding fuzz, and sending to a Frippertronics style looper. I use one expression pedal input to control the amount of processed signal being sent to delay/reverb. I plan to use the other to sweap between clean and driven tones. I also plan to set up buttons to play chords on various synths.

The only slightly frustrating thing is that, when I upload programming edits from the iOS app to the unit, I have to reboot the unit each and every time. That's a small price to pay for the massive resources it offers.

This foot switch cost a lot less than a Morningstar, and works just as well. You can use just the four switches, or add another 4 to get 8, or you can add the little 2-switch pedal to get 6. The programming app works great, too — and its very easy and flexible when it comes to MIDI commands and options for how the footswitches work. Highly Recommended!!

(I'm not sure why one reviewer here said they get no output from USB MIDI. Maybe they are doing something wrong, because MIDI via USB works flawlessly.)
