To put simply, these are the best headphones I've ever owned. The sound quality is great with rich lows and mids. Higher frequencies can be a little weak but nothing a little manual control of EQ can't fix. They look great and have a robust plastic casing compared to dome other brands that feel like they'd break if you dropped them once.
I already own a pair of ATH m20x headphones. Its pretty awesome except for the extra long cable that is not replaceable, which I hate. Bought this since I wanted a pair of headphones with replaceable cables and foldable compact design, and got a good price when the orange color limited edition went on sale
* Sound quality - sounds pretty good. Honestly I haven't been able to discern much difference in quality of these ATHm50x in comparison to my existing * Fit - Snug tending towards tight. It will probably get more comfortable over time * Comfort - the ear cups are of a soft material and pretty comfortable * Build quality - all plastic but seems sturdy
Overall will recommend if you want to spend on a pair of wired headphones with good sound quality.
I needed a good set of headphones to upgrade my home voiceover studio set up for both recording and editing, and these Audio-Technica ATH-M50XMO were recommended to me. I'd tried a lower grade pair by the same maker but wasn't getting enough pickup of the vocal nuances. These turned out to be exactly what I need in picking up my vocal detail without going all the way up to the most expensive professional grade for twice the price. I also love the metallic orange color because I can easily tell them from the other myriad headphones always circling my workspace - not essential, but most helpful with all the equipment laying around. I do VO for major companies and these will assure I'm giving them the quality they want.
I bought a pair of M50x because the sound is a bit different (noticeable) from the M50xBT and BT2 even wired. I am really enjoying these and i got them in a Lantern glow which the color is growing on me. Company sent me the wrong pair originally and they 1 day'd me the correct pair and a label and i sent back the old pair was really easy no issues.
I'm in radio and after almost 15 years my Sony MDRs finally died. I have some industry friends who raved about these, so I decided to give them a shot. Overall, I think they're a really decent pair of headphones, but they aren't the most comfortable pair for people with a large head like mine. PROS: Sound quality is amazing. The earcups are spacious. I really enjoy the cord options that come with the headphones.
CONS: Clamping force is definitely noticeable for larger heads. I wish the headband was more flush to the head. These stick out in an awkward way above the earcups.
First, the sound quality and build quality are great. If only they were comfortable, I could have kept them. They press hard on your head for any listening session, let alone a longer one. Fit will be different for everyone, so I recommend giving them a try. But if you have a larger head when it comes to hat size, you may want to avoid these.
